Six years at spurs without starting a game isnt exactly a glowing reference - best of luck though !

Never mind starting a game, he's never even been on the bench.

He was injured half the time. The fact they gave him contract extensions for that long suggest he has something to offer. Whether that's good enough for this level we'll soon see.

It's embarrassing to be a Villa fan these days.

Never.

Well that's the crowd-pleasing answer, but I'm afraid it isn't true.  We're an absolute laughing stock, thanks mainly to Lerner.

Agreed. Maybe it depends on where you live, but I'm just about the only Villa fan I know up here, and the 'banter' is mostly between mocking and pity these days. At least half my friends are Rangers fans, so I've got plenty of ammo to fire back.

I got to see Dawkins score a scorcher against The Seattle Sounders last September while visiting rellies in Seattle.

The lad is useful fast with good footwork and has an eye for good passes. Sounders fans will be glad to see the back of  him.

As to whether he will survive the pace and much tighter marking of the Premiership we  are about to find out. The MLS  defenders are good but a lot looser and less aggressive than the Premiership. Although the MLS does have its  share of  cloggers.

Dawkins at 25 years old has a lot  to prove to himself.  Many wouldn't have come back from the series of injuries  that he sustained but he worked  hard and was able to spend two  good seasons in San Jose. He will be popular with the fans because he signs  autographs and has a smiling personality. The fans of the San Jose Earthquakes are going to miss  Dawkins. There is no doubt  that the Earthquakes will attempt to re-sign him in  June.  (Paul Faulkner take note if he shows promise - sort it out)

If he is able to play the football that I saw   him produce in the MLS then we may very well have a player here.

For an article and video of his wondergoal follow this   http://tinyurl.com/bpvp483

Apologies if this has appeared elsewhere.

Perhaps one of the reasons he didnt get many games at Spurs might be down to Lennon, Bale, Van der Vaart etc

He's a Rumsfeld for me

An unknown unknown that might well become a wellknown.........

in a few years playing alongside our other unknown unknown .......with a lorra lorra luck?

Welcome ....show us what you've got...we know what the rest have and it aint a lot

So? Just because we have a buffoon as an owner and we are most likely going down without a fight it doesn't make me embarrassed to be a Villa fan.
If anything it makes me want to front up to anyone who tries to take the piss and ask them if they would pretend not to support their team if they were in the same situation.

Be angry, be sad, but for fuck's sake don't be embarrassed to support Aston Villa.

He seems similar to Gabby from the videos I have seen. Hopefully he won't go missing as often.

Looks very good from his highlights.

Let's hope he comes in flying. Could give us a creative spark.

There is no way on God's earth that Faulkner will have insisted on us being allowed to buy him if he is any good.   I wish him well.   I wish all young sportsmen and sportswomen well as they try to carve a career in the mad house of professional sport but mark my words if he is any good they will have him back before you can say Kyle Naughton.

I think his contract is up in the summer.
