Well it wasn't a car, but we once got the hospital bus stuck in a thick mud in Lake Mburo national park.
There was a lot of African-non-reversing or going forward come to that.
The highlight however was as we drove in, in the dark with headlights on full beam looking out for wildlife, one of our lot shouted "Look there's a zebra crossing!". Satisfying.

This thread should never be off the first page.

Just felt we were missing something as we prepare for our ascension.

Agree.  No more reversing.  Forward gears only.  The African can go and drive Danny Baker.

Always a pleasure to see this one crop up again.

It is indeed.  If ever we rebuild the North Stand it should be The African Car Reverser Stand.

If Formula One was replaced by African Car Reversers whizzing round a track backwards, I'd watch it every week.

I’m smiling broadly having just re-read the entire thread.
It has made a vegan husband grilling his ailing very pregnant* wife’s pork sausages more bearable.

I miss the days of her saying Linda McCartney ones were the best.
I guess African Sausage Connoisseur could be a very different type of thread.

*(Back on topic, a half African Villa fan on the way soon, maybe will have to teach *her* a three point turn outside VP in about 18 years time)

Big congratulations Satyin!

Ta bro. There was a sale a wee while back so plenty of Villa stuff (baby grows, fleece etc) in waiting. I did refuse to allow the Mrs to export a Man U shirt to the UK, condition of marriage innit. Kid will have an interesting time choosing with an ordained Buddhist Dad and strong Catholic mum, but *we* have been clear it has  no choice over being (at least) 4th generation Villa.

Hopefully we’ll be top flight by next month and may she never know otherwise.

I think a sign erected at the location of the incident would be nice. Saying simply "African Car Reverser".

Spring mounted, so it moves back when you push it.

The ACR (I’ve patented it) has demanded 50% of all shirts sales. I’m his agent so cough up.
