Lowton is not awful. And Bennett is just raw.
Lowton has been pretty poor since Chelsea and Bennett looks useless .

Personally, I think Lowton's been very good all season and has played very well recently.

I'd play the side that finished against Newcastle, possibly swapping Sylla for Bannan if he's ready, or Mazrims team. I wouldn't give up on KEA just yet, although could be a gamble playing him and Sylla together while neither have adapted to the pace of the league.

We just need to start the game with the intensity we finished with on Tuesday and you never know. Even a stopped clock gets the time right twice a day.

The possibility of Bannan's name on the team sheet again, fills me with dread.

The bits I've seen -
Anfield area - dump
Goodison area - dump
Fazakerley - dump
The drive from the motorway to both grounds - dump all the way

First time in years that I've had some kid say "look after your car Mister". Therefore I've decided to pay to park at Walton Hall Sports Centre

You could say the same about Birmingham if all you saw was the road from the M6 to the grounds.

Ditto the drive from the Hawthorns throught Smethwick/Oldbury to J2 of the M5

Had the misfortune of sitting next to a newcastle fan this morning at my lad's football training. He was at the game on Tues and couldn't understand why we didn't start with Weimann. We must start with him today (or was he crocked the other night? he seemed to take a couple of knocks)

To complete my transition to a total basket case, I think it's a comfortable if not large Everton win today, but as I hate to bet against my own a cheeky punt on an away win. Make of that confused nonesense what you will. How different we'd all feel if we could just nick it.

I agree with this, I think Lowton has all the potential to be a fine full back. In fact, I also think Bennett could be a good player. My worry is that we don't have a manager or coach who is about to help them improve.

Anyway, I fear a bit of a drubbing again today. I think he'll start with Sylla, and I have to say I'm genuinely quite interested to see him play! Because he must have something about him for us to have brought him in, surely?! Who knows, maybe he will add just the bite we need to help the defence.

If so, we'll get a draw, providing we concede no corners or free kicks in our own half.

Couldn't agree more. Weimann and Benteke should be automatic picks in my opinion.

This match feels like a bumpy landing - you know you`ve got no choice, you just pray you come out in one piece.

If its any consolation we do play better away from home and Everton have drawn a lot of home games... so we may sneek a point (hopefully), although I can't really see it!

Weimann was ill and that's why he didn't start the other night. Lambert confirmed as much after.

Whichever players start, I would like to suggest a 4-4-2.
The tactics and team talk immediately before kick off would be straightforward, and BACK TO BASICS.
1) You four defenders, line up across the back and don't let them past.
2) You four midfielders, line up across the pitch in front of the defenders. When they have the ball try to protect the defence, when we have the ball 2 or 3 of you try to get forward and help the forwards.
3) You two forwards, get stuck into their defenders at every opportunity.

This will be should easily understood by all.

I'd go 4-3-3. Sylla could start although I'd fully understand perhaps bringing him on second half when the game's got a touch slower to ease him in, but either way we need numbers in midfield at all costs, otherwise Everton will - not could, will - overrun us.
