"The lad will come in and give us something we don't have - a bit of steel there."

What about a bit of steel in defence or perhaps you haven't seen all the goals we have conceded?

Do you know, thinking about it, I'd leave Benteke up for the oppo corners.  He's useless defending them and it might amke the other team to keep a big man back.

Didn't he say anything else?

I was at least expecting a bit of " we have to fight and go again, pick ourselves up and not lay down in this fight we find ourselves in. Randy's a great guy who's fighting for us off the pitch and going again. Now we need to fight on the pitch and not lay down. Everyone's fighting and we have to as well. Its a fight...." etc., etc..

Very poor show. :0(

            Guzan
Lowton Vlaar Baker Clark
              Sylla
  Westwood Delph
Weimann             CNZ
            Benteke

Looks the most physical side we can put out.

1-1
Weimann 42
Fellaini 87 (from a corner)

Did Lambert really say that about 'needing a bit of steel' ?
We have been saying it since August.
When did this finally dawn on him then, and why the fuck didn't he sort it out sooner ?

Interesting read here and some great Villa photos on this Everton forum:

What exactly is the point of Birmingham? It’s there and it’s big but it’s pointless isn’t it? England’s second city is a throwaway title to merely acknowledge a big massive soup of nothingness. Birmingham is the appendix of England all truth be told.

And I think this is part of the problem with Villa fans in that they’re aware that there’s no real redeeming features of their club, fans or city so they try to compensate by trying a bit too hard. Their rips are unfunny, their tattoos garish and this won’t win me many friends but even with this chanting Petrov’s name on the nineteenth minute of each game – it’s a bit too much isn't it? Sure it’s awful but give him support by writing him a letter and stuff or just being there for him when he needs it.

There’s always been a bit of an edge between them and us because we have an identity and they don’t. Were the club they hope to be when they grow up but can’t admit it.

Meowwww!
It's hard to argue back though with how ridiculous our club has become. We don't seem to have a place in the Premier League at the minute. We barely register a presence in games now, we're constantly ignored by the press and TV.
To be honest if we got relegated, outside of us lot, I don't think it would matter a jot to anyone. We've been an ever present in the Prem, but if we go down now will people think the top flight poorer for it? No.

I have nothing against Everton, they're a decent old club with a decent history but to say they have an identity and we don't is a load a bollocks and the idea that Liverpool is a decent city is based purely on the beatles coming from there, it's a dock that the rest of the country used to get cheap labour until the poles started undercutting them.

What exactly are Everton F.C's redeeming features anyway?

Not being Liverpool?

I have always liked Everton and love the ground.

One pig ignorant fan won't change that.

Yep and that's good enough for me.
