We just simply have to win on Monday. A Wigan defeat would be very welcome bit it would mean we're still out of the bottom 3 and we will have closed up on one or teams. Please Villa. PLEASE.

Game today with Wigan is massive, really need Spuds to do em. Then we can relax a bit more and stuff the Mackems, a team whose supporters I respect immensely from 74/5 and 80/1. their team is likely to be along the lines of Minnolet, Colback, Carlos, O'Shea, Rose, Johnson, Larson, Some big black french lad, Mclean, Graham, Sessignon. FFS, that is a pile of shite, even our shite aint that bad. They were lucky at Newcastle and Everton should have sneaked a draw last week. Lets chase every fecking ball, dont give them time and our superior class will tell

That same pile of shite has been above your "superior classed but not as bad shite" in the table for the majority of the season marra!

Sunderland are a cuddly enough bunch but they don't half keep appointing evil bastards to manage them.

It's like taking the Care Bears and telling them their new leader is Ming the Merciless, taking over from the recently-sacked Davros, mad creator of the Daleks.

I have to say, having read a lot more into the background and what has gone before, I would be gutted to have a man like DiCanio managing us. Very much selling a soul to the devil for results.

Well, well, well. Four points ahead of my original forecast at this stage of the season.  Surely even we can't screw this one up,can we?!

Did you enjoy the arena Davey?

I said after the Newcastle game you were lucky and got carved open by them but got through with the ref and 3 screamers. Everton for some reason thought attacking was not to be done against you, but you must be worried about DiCanio over a full season? He just seems to say bizarre things that if results are not falling, will alienate players very quickly.

I think we both know the answer to this one.

The ironic thing is when we played Sunderland up there they didn't have a single shot on target, they had a few tonight.

Potting MON when they did saved them with the two wins.

;D  I was at work Ozzjim, I've not long got home! I had updates during the game from my Villa supporting step son, plus a couple of the lads in the syrup room were watching it live on their mobiles. I've had quite a bit grief off the boy already!  ;) Well done on a comprehensive victory, that is unarguably a kicking for us. I didn't see that coming at all. Backs up what i was saying regarding sufficient team strengthening while MON was here though, as with no offence intended, you aren't in a relegation battle for playing like Barcelona, and we've buckled to other relegation rivals already this season too. I don't feel that we have been afforded the credit deserved for the Newcastle and Everton wins to be honest, and the same for the performance at Chelsea. I thought we deserved both victory's and that we were a tad unlucky not to get a point at Stamford Bridge. Last night though, listening to the lads that watched it, (both are level headed), we got everything we deserved from the game.

I was wary about Di Canio as soon as i heard we had appointed him. I've said the same on our site. As uplifting as the two wins he has had were, i am a little wary of the longer term and player v manager fall outs. I just don't know what to expect during the transfer window.

Positives from last night -

The Mags are well and truly in the shit now.
We'll now see how we respond to a drubbing under the new regime.

Negatives for us last night -

Confidence blow.
We are still well and truly in the shit.
And the biggest one of all, Sessegnon out for the remaining games leaving us as toothless as we have ever been.

Still feel it's Wigan to go!

Ideal scenario for me:

We're safe before the Wigan game, Wigan need a point from us to stay up and send Newcastle down. We give them a point.
