From now I'd be disappointed if we don't beat Norwich and if we don't get 4 points from Fulham and Sunderland, which would put us on 40 with 2 games left and should mean we can all rest easy for the last couple of games, I genuinely think we've got the nicest run in of any side in the battle down there so I've long thought it was in our own hands, we've beaten the 3 sides we really needed to beat and got some good momentum, I still think we'll end up 13-14th with a 3-4 point 'cushion'.

Sunderland to lose at Chelsea today will help pile the pressure on them. Game against them at VP will be the key one for me. Annoying that the game is on a Monday night to suit Sky - meaning teams around us will have already played and maybe got points

Is the Sunderland game on a Monday night? I know manure away is but I didn't think Sunderland was.

Do we want a Wigan or QPR win today? I think that a QPR win will be better for us. Am I right?

35 points down at the moment:

Norwich: Arsenal (a), Reading (h), Stoke (a), Villa (h), West Brom (h), Man City (a)

Stoke: Man United (h), QPR (a), Norwich (h), Sunderland (a), Spurs (h), Southampton (a)

Newcastle: Fulham (h), Sunderland (h), WBA (a), Liverpool (h), West Ham (a), QPR (a), Arsenal (h)

Villa: Fulham (h), Man U (a), Sunderland (h), Norwich (a), Chelsea (h), Wigan (a)

Slumberland: Chelsea (a), Newcastle (a), Everton (h), Villa (a), Stoke (h), Southampton (a), Spurs (h)

Wigwam: QPR (a), Man City (a), West Ham (a), Spurs (h), WBA (a), Swansea (h), Arsenal (a), Villa (h)

3 things stand out for me. If QPR win today, they have enough games against other sides at the bottom to win 4 and get up to 37 points. They have a good enough side, and have goals in them.

Wigan, for all their form, have a tough run in for me. They are games you would ordinarily say they are unlikely to win many from, but the Wigan play like Barcelona in April and may is starting to crank up. The only hope is they have hit form too early!

Newcastle and Norwich have enough winnable games to see them safe, so do we on current form. Sunderland are bang in trouble with their games though. Their fixtures with us and Stoke could be vital. I can see Wigan, Sunderland and Stoke all needed to win on the final day to overhaul us by that point.

I think we should take 7 points from the games with Fulham, Sunderland and Norwich and be home and dry.
Sunderland could be the hardest of the 3 depending on if di canio gets them going- norwich and Fulham we should beat .

The other 3 games - Chelsea may have a cup final that week soapy a weakened team and if we are already safe i would expect to go to wigan and win .

For me it will be probably sunderland or stoke that go.

I agree eastie, but Fulham next week won't roll over, they're a bit of an enigma and will either be shocking or look like a top six team. I see that as the hardest fixture of the 3, Sunderland are just shite (I don't see Mussolini making any difference up there).

Stating the obvious but we could really do with Chelsea and QPR wins today.  They've both got difficult games after that, so we have to beat Fulham as we won't beat Man U away.

Fulham are good at the cottage but not so good away , I think we have the momentum and desire whereas they are comfortable in midtable - fully expect to win this one.

I expect qpr and Chelsea to win today and am hoping for resounding wins to peg the goal difference back a bit in the process.

Looked like we might go last weekend, looks like we might stay this one. The old cliché about twists and turns is certainly proving true. If Wigan would just fuck off and start losing again that would obviously be a massive help but if we maintain the form of recent weeks we should still be ok. Norwich dark horses for the drop for me. Their form is shocking. Swansea at home's a cushy tie at the moment and they couldn't win it.
