Would needing a draw or a win be better for us in our final game? I.e. going they and trying to park the bus (which we can't do) or having to go at them for a goal?

Jesus fucking wept a defeat to the champions and all of a sudden were down, again. Honestly, its like some people suffer from football bi-polar!

More or less sums up my views, FWIW. You can spend time in misery, convinced we're going to be relegated, you can be optimistic and believe we'll stay up, or ambivalent. If you're in the optimistic camp, and proved wrong, other than giving some people the opportunity to boast, you haven't wasted time being permanent doom and gloom merchants, and all the negativity that entails.

What a good way of putting it.

The owner is happy to see the club get relegated just so that he can sell a player without the supporters being so upset. This being the same owner who made the most unpopular managerial appointment of all time less than two years ago, such is his reluctance to go against public opinion. I despair.

I wouldn't put anything past that man. Incompetent and irresponsible and out of his depth. I despair.

You also make up conspiracy theories that danlanza wouldn't believe.

I have t made it up, Dave. I got my information from elsewhere. You carry on "waiting for things to get better". I'm sure they will, eventually.

Of course you did. I'll carry on living on a planet where the sky's blue and Elvis is dead.

I don't know what Randy has on El Dave, but whatever it is it must be pretty powerful mojo.

I really don't see us staying up if we had to go there to win tbh, just don't think the players would be up for that mental task.

Couldn't see us playing for a 0-0 either given our last clean sheet was in the ice but we have shown since the new year we can score a goal or two on the break away from home and Wigan would have to commit men forward at some point.

I just want a task as easy as possible if it comes down to the last day. Shame the GD is screwed up again as it would've been ideal going up there 3 points ahead with the scenario Wigan would only stay up if the beat us by two goals or something.

I reckon if we go to Wigan needing a draw, we'll beat them. If we go there needing a win, we'll lose. Just an instinct. Still, I'd rather play them there, where we have a decent record, than at Villa Park, where they tend to do us.

We need Spurs to beat Wigan, Norwich to beat Stoke. Liverpool to beat Newcastle. Then we beat Sunderland leaves a six point gap & 4 teams on 37 points.  Norwich would then be safe on 41 points before we play them. Beat Nowich, draw with Chelsea leaves us safe before we play Wigan.

Simple, no problem.

Unfortunately we are going to lose against Chelsea at home. We've lost against every top six team at home this season apart from Arsenal.

If they get to the Europa league final and also secure top 4 spot before we play them I think we will beat them. Final is 4 days after we play them

So we might not lose this one either then.

Using that logic we might win. Odds on though we'll roll over and die

Spirals suggests we started high...poor use of language. I try, try and see what the manager is trying to do, try and see that there are some positives. You are sitting on the lawn eating worms. The defence is awful, but going forward id much better. Give someone time rather than just discarding it as all crap.

Someone spouting you conspiracy theories can be ignored pretty much due to early release from the asylum.

You ignore my so called conspiracy theories and i'll ignore your laughable over-confidence.

Only 4 games left, perhaps it's time for a bit of bribery and corruption. Needs must

If it's odds on, i've got a quid of mine against £50 of yours that we don't lose.
