Will Randy try to sell up if relegated?
« on: January 30, 2013, 09:55:25 AM »
Do people think randy would continue at the helm should the dream end in relegation or do we think he would call it a day and look for a buyer ,if anyone would be interested .

The sooner the better.

The paralysis at the club has been quite shocking and the warnign signs have been there.

Hope he sells up soon, there has to be togetherness and leadership. That's as important as ££££.

As I've said many times it's not as simple as just selling up, you need to have an attractive asset and a willing buyer. I don't think we have either of those, especially if we're relegated.

The only hope is that relegation will really lower the value of the club and make it a more attractive investment to potential suitors. It does seem like most buyers are looking to the Championship. Forest, Leeds, Cardiff, Leicester etc. Although after our failed suger-daddy experiment with Lerner, I would just rather have a more traditional ownership. Tottenham are the model for us.

We go down Randy will never get his cash back so he will just have to take a hit on loans owed. It's his poor running of club that has brought us to this point so I hope he does lose millions.

Yes - knowing Randy he will sell up when the club is at its lowest ebb for 26 years.

If he's looking to sell, surely it's better to spend £10 million or so to keep us up than have us go down and lose, at a guess, £100 million in value?

The truth is none of us have a clue what, or indeed if, Randy is thinking at any point in time.

Whether he's looking to sell or not, that's the most obvious thought in the world. It is staggering that Lerner and our board don't seem to realise it.

Staying up this season will just mean this all happens again next season.

At least it'll happen again in the top division rather than the Championship. Those who think that going down to the Championship will be some sort of cleansing, healing experience are utterly mad.

I don't think he is looking to sell at all. Given that he now has no emotional attachment to the club or its fans, he's looking at it from purely a business angle.

Last year we made an operating loss of £50m. That can't go on hence the 'austerity' regime that Lambert is part of.  Lerner will now let the club find its natural level, further exports to come I feel, whether that be in the Championship or League 1. Then through Lambert he build the club up on a sounder financial footing. Doubt if he will ever have the stomach for the Premier League again, it's too rich for his blood. I think we are going down for quite a long time but hopefully we'll have more fun.

I don't think Randy Lerner had any plans yet, but he is open to offer to a suitable person. Need to be Man City/Chelsea type owner before consider selling.
