The 352 formation has to go

Even Brian Little, a manager who played 3-5-2 was saying how obvious it was we needed to play 442

Yet at the start he said that going with the 3 5 2 was the way to go.

If the 3 at the back were God, Southgate and Ehiogu it might work!

The maths are simple. Lerner is either incredibly fucking stupid or disinterested, he cannot be both.

Actually, he could be both disinterested and stupid.
We will soon see over the next two days. Transfers still possible. We live in hope. I cannot be bothered to rant anymore, i am just to tired from the last 3 years. Fuck it. My stress levels have gone through the roof to the point that pre- match i am just a grumpy twat, and it gets no better after the games.
I am going to spend Saturday on the beach with the Mrs and bollocks to the football, enough is enough for now. It's doing my brain in. Relegated or not i will still love this club more than everything. UTV.

We're not down yet.  There are points to play for and I feel we will get a few when people least expect it.  We desperately need at least two signings to lift the place, give us more fight and more options - but we all know that.

I thought Barry Bannan stood up to be counted in that second half - there's a very decent player in there.

Bannan is shit!

True.
But at least he wanted the ball unlike some.
i tend to agree with both of you. He isn't as good as he thinks he is, but he never hides or goes missing and tries his bollocks off. He wasn't the worst player out there by a long chalk.

Bent can fuck right off. Weimann an Gabby embarrassed him tonight.

Most would agree with you that he's clearly not good enough, I just don't think he's particularly worse than any of the others.

A mix of emotions. Mostly frustration.
Its quite possible we can survive if we abandon the crap formations like a flat back fucking 5 against a team that until tonight had not won away all season,
play 4-3-3 and also if we sign a couple of decent players.

There is no room to manoeuver on that one. Get the business done at all costs. Do it now.
And please Villa, TRY AND PLAY WELL IN TWO HALVES FOR FUCKS SAKE!!!!

This time last week I was gutted, upset and fuming.
Tonight, I really couldn't give a fuck.
40 years of going down there and that first 45 minutes was as bad as I can ever remember seeing (probably since the last time I said it.)
Second half was better, but only because we tried to force and threw everything at them. There wasnt actually much quality and the final 15 mins we played virtually the same as we did against the 4th division side.
The manager OBVIOUSLY does not learn from previous failures.

I think that fat lady is gargling and clearing her throat.

Three things let us down today.
1.5 at back against 1 up top.one clever pass one down.
2.Picking Bent.
3.Our use of the Floatball tactic has to stop.Every corner, every free kick and every cross from the half way line.

We could get out of the shit with the right tactics, couple of signings, bit of luck.  However, PL seems tactically brittle and can't deliver a full 90.  He's got to gamble now, the previous approach hasn't worked.  Wasn't impressed with Westwood not closing down the ball for the Cabaye goal and giving it a superman manoeuvre instead.  Basics, you'd get slaughtered If you defended like that on Billesley Common. We've just got to go again, arghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

One other thing - when Steven Taylor was bouncing up and down in front of Guzan , trying to make it difficult for Guzan to communicate with the players in the wall - not one, not fucking one of our players turned round and came to shift him. Shows the team spirit this failure of a manager has instilled in the club. Pathetic.

Obviously I didn't see the incident referred to there, but if one of our players went back to "shift" Taylor, wouldn't they have suddenly dropped the offside line back within the 6 yard box (or wherever Taylor was) for all the Newcastle players if the free kick was taken quickly.

The Villa have driven me absoluteley mad tonight.

From the absurdity of the wing backs in the first half when we had no possession at all to the promise of the early 2nd half and then to the lump it down the middle at the end of the game.

Gabby came on played wide, ran the fullback stupid, won a penalty and from several crosses we nearly scored again all within 15 minutes of the 2nd half.

Gabby then plays down the middle for the last 30 minutes, we lump it forward playing for flick ons and huff and puff without really creating anything. Was was the manager not screaming at Gabby to stick wide. Why ???????????????????????????? Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.

Most frustrating thing is its only jan still have have 14 games left we ain't gonna win em all but have over 40 points to play for.I know its difficult but villa fans need to be behind the club more than ever,to avoid relegation we need 5 wins, can't be having ppl saying relegation is a certainty, however I can't believe that the club are doing nothing to stop the rot, quite simply 2-3 experienced heads are needed with a leader to get the youngsters and the game by the scruff of the neck and sort it out! With very little money we have I think we need to stand by lambert till end of season as as it may cause more disruption sacking him.We can't afford to sack him,the more money we have for the next 2 days the better, next two days are crucial though!!!! Villa till I die!!!!
