this is the most frustrating site to post on taking 10 attempts at pressing post before my post is posted.

Murphy: "So you're shopping in Lidl rather than Waitrose?"

Lambert: "....there's nothing wrong with Lidl. I've seen you shop in there, Pat."

Except lambert would wander around aimlessly not having a fucking clue what he needed to buy.

Bannan and Westwood have been absolutely rubbish, but Lambert's basically thrown them into the middle with no help anywhere near them whatsoever. Tactics should be designed to maximise your players' strengths and minimise their weaknesses, but Lambert appears to be determined to magnify absolutely every flaw our players have individually with this astonishingly poor formation.

I actually feel sorry for the players in a way. That formation is almost guaranteed to make them look bad.

Bannan and Westwood each have two players to mark, their opposite number and the advancing full back. Lowton and Bennett are often outnumbered two to one. Newcastle had options free every time they came forward. We on the other hand are crowded out and can do little but hoof.

Add in the fact that some players are not good enough to do what is asked of them and 0-2 getting off lightly.

FFS Lambert this formation stinks of goals against. Sort that out now and get some proper midfielders tomorrow.

Are we still evens to be relegated?
On a normal day and circumstances Newcastle would sit back and defend their 2-0 lead.  With our team they know they might as well carry on going for it....very sad!

This team is now poorer than the Derby side that went down with record low points.

I don't get it.

It looks like we've genuinely decided on some year zero policy where we have to get relegated.

That is absolute, absolute fucking gash, and it's getting worse.

If we are going to try to stay up, then I absolutely refuse to believe anybody thinks that squad is strong enough. It's beyond pathetic.

Week after week, no midfield, and we have no options there. Look at the effect Sissoko has had on Newcastle, then look at our predictable seen-it-twenty-times-this-season powder puff midfield.

There is nothing, I'd say they look like a bunch of amateurs but I've seen better organised and quality amateur teams. There's no system, no ability, no passion, no clue, no fucking nothing.

There are tribes in the Amazon who have probably never even seen a football.   I'd back them to outmaneuver us too.

The fans are far too tolerant for me. They need to be booing the shit out the club.
I don't think even have the anger or effort to boo because they're so used to this shit.

And that's the problem.

Fuck me this is shit. Even Lambert sat down when second went in.

The whole ground could see we needed to play 4-4-2.

When 3-5-2 the full back should move forward and his sided centre back comes out to join him when defending. That's how that formation works. It's not always the centre midfielders role to get out wide.

Fuck me.

I honestly think we will lose every match left to play.

This has proven what can be done with considered, talented signings.  Bent & Bannan have offered nothing, & the rest very little except N'Zogbia who finally appears to be bothered.  Wiemann & Holman need to be on for the 2nd half.

I do now fear were doomed.
