That's a lot at the back. Harsh on Weimann to be left out considering that those players ahead of him are hardly firing. Still, no Gabby is a bit of a bonus.

What has it come to that I am gutted that Dunn is not in the squad, even in the knowledge he's only been training for 2 weeks after a 6 month lay-off?

Newcastle midfield sounds good - a deep lying 2 in cabaye and sissoko - the only saving grace could be that so many new players don't gel together on a windy night in January.

Happy to see Bent and Benteke up front, it's the rest of them that worry me (bar Guzan).

5-3-2. Interesting no Weimann starting considering his scoring record. Lets hope Bent and Eke work well together.
Well they've never worked together before. I can only hope that Clark gets pushed up into midfield otherwise the Barcodes will rip our midfield to shreads.

Overall a shit team selection. Not happy.

What a pathetic line up! Westwood/Bannan against Cabeye/Sissoko. Hmmm...I wonder who will win that duel? Weimann dropped for Bent FFS! Was Lambert at the Millwall game? What did Bent do to deserve a start? Really hope this is Lambert's final game in charge.

What you wouldn't give for the midfield of 2010 with the front line of 2013.

That midfield is the difference between where we are now and where we were then. For instance,  Swap Bannan, N'Zogbia, Bennet and Westwood (even though he is good) for Petrov, Milner, Young and Downing and I think we would be a comfortable top eight side chasing Europe.

Not seen too much of Bent and Benteke together, so here goes.

Would they be playing a 442 with Perch right wing?
More likely three in the middle, Perch, Cabaye, Sissoko. Against Westwood and Bannan. Ouch.

Gutierrez and Gouffran either side of Cisse.

I think our only chance is that their new signings don't adapt.

Haven't felt this nervous about a game for a while!
