KEA.

He doesnt get back until tomorrow does he - jetlag, plus not very good.( being kind)
We need two new midfielders this week., and a defender.
That will be £4.5m then.

We won't get any of those before tomorrow. Or the end of January. We are stuck with what we currently have.

Our midfield is shockingly bad.

Westwood is pretty decent. Shame about the rest.

It isn't, really.

Well, what I mean is, there are individual players in there who are quite good. It is just that there are no apparent combinations of them at the same time that work.

Stick a decent defensive mid in the middle, and it'd be transformed.

Westwood is best by far,
 Delph improved of late,
 Clark better midfielder than defender,
Bannan - get rid
Holman - very average
Kea - poor so far
Ireland- waste of space

             Guzan

Lowton.    Dunne.     Vlaar.  Bennett

      Bannan  Holman    Westwood

Benteke       N'zogbia      Agbonlahor

It's a hotch potch, but I figured that if Gabby is on the left that might afford Bennett some respite.

Benteke is out wide right to draw them out a little, Holman is pish but will work harder than Ireland.
I've included the dreaded Bannan on the right, because I think having Benteke just in front of him will
offer him some space. He'll naturally cut inside and try to play a long ball into the channel for Gabby.
and N'zogbia to me always seems to want to play up front, so why not let him?

That lineup reminds me how we organised the table plan at our wedding. Write all the names on postits, and then jiggle them around until you've spread the pissheads round the place.

You're not far wrong, I think every line up I've tried, has had a glaring weak area or been imbalanced.

It really is compared to our options there in 09/10 and even 10/11.

He may have to throw KEA straight in. There's not much else he can do really.

About the only chance we'll have of seeing a successful tackle in midfield all night
