Not a hope in hell of getting anything form this game and I'm afraid it will be the first nail in the coffin for relegation.....which is weird coming from me as I'm always optimistic but all the talk that Learner has given up has knocked all the wind out of my sails!

3- 1 Villa, followed by a 2- 1 win against Everton and some relief for a while.

Winning 2 games in a row when we have difficulty even winning 1 game, conceding only 2 goals in 2 games, scoring 5 goals in 2 games, absolutely and utterly impossibilities!

I predict we'll have most possession in the first half , passing it across the middle but getting nowhere, then get hit by a long bar-code goalies kick up field for the first goal and the usual corner shenanigans for there second.
If it wasn't our club, all this lately would be hilariously--------------we are the laughing stock of football and it tears mwe up to say it

Newcastle are particularly weak down the flanks especially in away matches. They also haven't won away this season and in 12 away prem matches. I m aware they signed a host of players who they are trying out for the first time. It can lead to confusion and errors as learning the other players/team style. Of course it can be an inspiration and strength newcastle have new faces. The fact is the signings haven't played in prem league and a great villa atmosphere can intimidate them.
I would say villa know how big this match is above all else. Whats lacking is a high level 90 minute performance. We can play well in patches but the fact is against a lower opposition we may not be punished if we dont play well. This is against a weak newcastle team who will play one up front. Villa actually win alot of aerial duals in top 4 of prem teams so will cope with newcastle long balls. Whats needed is a quicker tempo more possession play in opponents half not our own and strikers/attackers to work the channels. I feel if we win this we deserve to. I wanna see midfield pressing and getting ball forward quickly but in the right areas! UTV 2-1 villa

Problem is we knew how big wigan, soton, bradford were as well but we failed to deliver - i have not seen anything to make me think this will be any better.
