In fairness to eastie, he's heard the same thing I have by the sounds of it. We'll see how things pan out.
We know that. He quoted you in a list of three people who knew it so it has probably come from the same source. There are only so many variations:
1 - Lerner won't spend.
2 - Lerner will spend but Lambert won't let him.
3 - Lerner wants to spend and Lambert is trying to find someone to buy.

Oh, I didn't see that "list" so awfully sorry.
I think #3 seems to be the most accurate as far as I know, which isn't much.
Too many critics and sceptics  on here when information is shared  but paulie, maz and greg know where this is coming from and i trust them to keep it that way-

Ive heard again  in the last hour lambert has always had money to spend in this window , he is the one choosing not to spend it so far , the money is there .

Lets hope he spends it wisely is what i was told a fortnight ago and also an hour ago.

Its no secret i would like lambert to be gone , but that appears extremely unlikely to happen .

There you go then.

For the record I'm disgusted at how ineffective we've been in the market so far when it was clearly paramount and has, in my opinion, ruined our season regardless of what happens next.
And whilst I'm loathe to consider yet another managerial change I'm fed up with the side not being able to get the Chelsea result and the avalanche of terribad that has followed out of their system. We know the team is young an inexperienced but it also shows a lack of leadership behind the scenes that has come as a nasty suprise.

It can still be turned around but this factory of sadness has to change production lines rikki fucking tick.

Stability would be great. But if that stability is in the form of Billy McNeill mk II, forget it.

If Lambert does have money, and there is so much smoke and mirrors I haven't got a clue any more, and he has chosen not to spend it, then I think that is a gross dereliction of his responsibility as Aston Villa manager.

Christmas told him everything about what that squad needed to steady us and give fresh impetus. January has been the most desperate time since I started supporting the club in the 70s. We had a fantastic opportunity to get points on the board against our rivals and get to Wembley and his stubborness may have thrown it all away.

It makes me want to weep with frustration to be honest.

By chosen not to spend it , lets say so far, i think he will surely spend it but it could all go down to a frantic last day , we signed westwood , benteke and bowery on deadline day and i wouldnt be surprised to see 3 more this time around .

Personally i think too many points have been dropped when we should have already signed players by now - but we will have to wait and see.

Im sure clampy will be manning all communication posts for us on deadline day .

For the sake of everyone else on this board, i'm going to ignore your last comment. Nice try though.

Perhaps he is not spending it to make sure there is enough in the bank for his pay off when he leaves.

Chris  correct. if you are taking over a team that has been into two relegation fights you would consider relegation. People should stop chewing the fat on Lamberts words in such minutiae to look for what they term as excuses!

He never mentioned before now though has he? He's getting desperate now everyone's realised just how awful a job he's doing.

Absolutely, why mention it? It's like a clumsy cleaner knocking over the Venus de Milo and saying "Oh, but its arms had fallen off anyway."

Maybe Warnock going will lead to some action. Sometimes these things happen in a sequence. As for the meeting, they may speak everyday for all I know.

As countless others have stated the problem is the wages - Warnock going is an extra million we won't be forking out to an underperfoming twunt for the next 6 months. Unfortunately Ireland, CNZ, Given, Hutton aren't going anywhere - so that's 6 million or so we will be spending and getting very little in return - this sea.

I think he has about 10m but doesn't see / can't attract players many of those who would play for a struggling team on short term contracts or with huge reduction in wages if we don't stay up.

Not that this would happen but (following a comment, or 9, Eastie made yesterday)  I would love to see Lambert forgoing a huge chunk of his basic pay which is recompensed + 40% say if we stave off relegation.

Decided not to spend it so far - doesnt mean not at all obviously!
The transfer window is a game of cat and mouse .
Bluff and counter bluff - like many i think  we should have brought players in earlier but  its his choice as hes stated several times.

Nice try - Im sure if he could read that he would be laughing his head off - enjoy your day lambshank.

We will spend between £10 - £15m before the deadline - im sure of it.
Up to lambert to get the players now.
