During the second half as we laboured to try and get a decent ball forward and to create chances that were obviously not coming, I sort of half wanted them to score again and put us out of our misery.

Sort of like shooting a lame horse as it limps its way to a slow painful death.

Of course I didn't really want Bradford to score but watching Villa last night freezing cold and completely pissed off I just wanted it over so I could get back to the car and go home.

We are beyond embarrassing now.

Bradfords whole team could be bought with probably one days wages of Ireland or Bent that sums it up for me.
And get in a defensive coach, we obviously dont have one.

Corners are our problem for sure

As I walked home last night I thought if I were the manager I would spend as much time after normal training practising defending corners till they got at least 10,20 or 30 right......

but then I remembered who do they train against because our forwards are just as crap at attacking them
Can't blame the forwards, it's a bit difficult to attack something that's ballooned thirty feet over your head

First 20 mins played well, passion, energy. We got the ball down played with urgency down the wings, got the crosses in and made chances. The minute we scored it was like right lads job done here. We backed off moved back a gear. Second half we stopped doing what was working, not one cross it was pathetic.  Could Lambert not see this and scream blue murder at them to get back to what was working???????????? As for Stephen Ireland? get rid our most experienced player should have been running the show last night. But typical Villa, after 33 years supporting them what more did I expect.  We need players with balls and passion, see Shaun Teale, or Des Bremner they would not have stood for that performance last night. Leaders??? we have none

I'd be interested in your opinion Mr Woodall as we lurch from one rock bottom to another. What's your take on proceedings last night? For my part I'm off to write something for the forthcoming bumper sized X-rated H&V relegation special.

Benteke - cant head the ball to save his life - absolutely no control on the direction of the headers. One wonder strike against the Baggies does not equate to 12 missed sitters.

What a load of bollocks. Last night was his 11th goal of the season or had you forgotten about them?

Lerner spent more on those flags than their team cost. Think about that.

Exactly the point....if they can't produce a proper corner how can they prepare for defending against one....I'd have them out there for the rest of the week freezing their bollocks off until they all get it right.....let them earn their high wages

If we can't defend corners we won't win football matches! Most teams will get at least one or two chances from these situations in any given match! That is all!

Yes, and that was the January transfer budget used up!

Their lack of movement doesn't help though.  Every time Lowton and Bennett had the ball last night, Gabby and Benteke were stationary and made no real effort to make any kind of run.  Our movement off the ball when we are in possession is non-existent.

I mentioned this a few pages ago but has anyone else noticed how little the strikers work the channels - to give a wide option and stretch the oppositions back four. Bennett and Lowton often take stick for coming inside as we move the ball from one side of the pitch to the other - but they have no option. There is nothing in front of them.

It was maddeningly frustrating watching Banteke and Agbonlahor standing within 10 yards of each other behind defenders. The result of course is that we become increasingly narrow and our midfield more pedestrian as they struggle to find anyone moving for them.

I can only think Lambert tells them to do this - it was always one of Gabby's strengths under O'Neill.

My flag got snapped in half and launched at the pitch at full time. Lerner and his puppet think they can keep us quiet with plastic tat whilst serving up the crap we witnessed last night and charging us £35 for the privelege?
Last season I reached a point where I just wasnt enjoying going to watch shit football and bore draws so said that was it for me whilst McLeish was incharge (I dont wholly blame McLeish as it is now being proven that he was probably victimised to a point-another 20m on top and Lambert still cant get this squad going) anyway, I got talked into one more game as the team needed us, Bolton at home which was my lowest point supporting Villa, I said then that things could not get any lower.
This season has slapped me round the face for my stupidity, this is 10times worse than then and subsequently thats it for me this season. Ive been to a fair few games this season but unless something changes in the next 7days, no more.
We are down and will not turn that around without something drastic changing. RL&PF's mis-stewardship of Aston Villa is almost complete. Have look at my tag line. Is it now time that we hold Mr Lerner to those words?

I have been a Villa fan for 60 years and I have never felt so low. Even when we were in the old third division we had players who performed with passion and managers who realised that they were not up to the job but of course there was not the money in the game that there is now.
