IMO, N'Zogbia together with Bent was the start of the decline. I didn't rate either of them and the policy of buying worse then your selling began there. I can't believe he's still here, a complete and utter waste of money

You didn't rate a player who kept us up, scored a goal every other game and was better than anyone we'd had in his position for over a decade?

I've said several times before: NZog was TSM's vanity purchase. He'd tried to sign him at the Sty and the Board vetoed the costs; when TSM joined us it was 'unfinished business' for him, and we were foolish enough to to buy him. His career consists of one half-season at Wigan and a few random performances at the Barcodes. Other than at: nothing, nada, zilch.

Correct. I didn't rate him and think he was way over-priced. For me, Bent was a Championship player who got lucky

I wouldn't mind some more 2nd division rated players with a 1 in 2 goal ratio then.

When Bent had the correct service around him he scored goals, he wasn't the greatest of players but a player,  before his injury you could build a team around.

Bent is an example and a victim of the lack of joined up thinking the club has suffered from.  Massive investment by the club with a manager who knew what to do with him.  But then as we lunge from one style and manager to another he becomes the wrong type of player and then gets viewed by some as an expensive mistake.

Sorry that's just nonsense. You might not of liked his all round play, but he was a very good goalscorer.

If I remember rightly back then, nobody else wanted him and we paid a ridiculously high fee for him. That much for "not the greatest player" ?? I would, however, swap him now for Gestede

Bent was a shoe-in for Brazil 2014.

Then Paul Lambert came along and decided he couldn't play in a way to accomadate a striker like Bent.

From that moment on his career plummeted. A better manager / coach would have seen plenty of goals and he would have played a part for England too. Could Bent and Benteke play together?

We never got the chance to find out.

Zog - leech. He will soon be gone.

I don't think you can blame Lambert for Bent getting injured before he was Villa manager. Bent was never the same after that injury at Wigan.

Yep.  The injuries really took a toll on him and he never looked the same player after, as his sharpness had gone.  He was very good in the remainder of the season after arriving in January.

Bent was quite frankly a magnificent striker.  His injury finished him - typically for Villa.

Yes this was absolute shit wasn't it.

Bent should have been bought when we got Heskey. Instead he went to Sunderland. IMO, Bent in that team, at that time with Young and co would have got us top 4.

My very best wishes to you defending that position. It might be easier for you to become a defence lawyer for a bloke caught red handed by the cops taking money from a bank vault swearing he wasn't there.

I think everyone associated with Aston Villa will agree N'Zogbia has been a disaster...
He's a leech and good for nothing, pity the dumb club that employs next...
Just glad he will be gone at the end of the season, usually I welcome past managers and players back to Villa Park but not N'Zogbia, he's took the piss out of the club and fans since the day he arrived...
