Presume we'll be paying him off if he hasn't found a club by Monday. Good riddance.

Someone has pointed out that he is not being picked because of his work rate off the ball - his response was that he is a baller and why should he have to do things off the ball.

@TheEachWayBandi Genuine question... I guess my contract was the problem

Why this, why that? Oh Charlie you have talent why aren't they picking you?

He's a fucking leech of a man, sums up our stupidity with money the last 10 years. We've acted like that considerably richer than you moron from Harry Enfield and thrown the stuff about.

He is a great poster child for the stupidity, recklessness, and the profligacy that has created the mess we are in.

McLeish (and the morons) who allowed a 5 year contract of nigh on $3.8m in guaranteed salary to a player who at best, had already displayed a tendency for laziness, exemplify why we have sunk to the levels we have.

He's the sort of cretin, and they are the sort of morons, who make me feel dirty even showing an interest in top flight football these days.

I don't think Charlie is the stupid one in this case. You can't blame the guy for signing on to a fat contract. I think the stupidity bit needs to find it's way into the second paragraph.

Contrarily, Charlie could be brilliant. I mean the man literally does nothing but kick a ball around with some 20 year olds and goes home, only to receive a check every two weeks with more zeros than you or I could ever imagine.

The guy is swimming in money. Some may say he's rotten, but he masterminded/conned his way into millions and will still probably get another decent gig in the MLS after this all ends.

As a player who was subbed or bombed out for years (in particular after his injury) I think he has some justification for taking the money and running.

I will also say he seemed genuinely angry with Sherwood / Lambert at being subbed every single game even if he had played alright. He seemed to have that "Dammit I just want to play" look about him as he was inevitably hooked 10 mins before the end.

I dont think he was all useless or lazy at all. Not worth the money obviously but I think he genuinely wanted (wants?) to play for us.

Anyway, just a bit of a counter point to the justified negativity about his costs and contributions.
