I agree it was provocative, and for that reason he should not have done it. But, was it any more disrespectful than Villa pushing half-season tickets on the back of an implied Wembley Final. Villa's actions were calculated, whereas you could put the Bradford Announcer's actions down to exhuberance.

We didn't do it in a volatile situation.

Yes I agree entirely Dave, which is why you are correct to say it was provocative. But the disrespect arguement is different. What is worse, a club being disrespectful, or an individual.

One man's disrespectful is another man's sharp marketing.

And what one man may regard as sharp, another may consider as crass.

Or stupid.

To be honest, if the club hadn't used the semi to shift half season tickets they would have been castigated for not maximising the opportunity, regardless of who we were playing. At no point did we ever talk about Wembley as if we were all but there like their PA chap did. He knew exactly what he was doing, it was his 15 minutes of fame and I'm sure he revelled in it. Tomorrow is our chance to rectify things and if his antics spur us on, I'm glad he did it.

We sell half season tickets at the same time every season. People who brought one on the back of a possible Wembley final would have thought of it whether the club had pushed it or not.

It's the age of the internet. We did.

I don't think many Bradford City supporters would be looking at the Viila's website. It was an advert by the Villa aimed at Villa supporters to make money for the Villa. It was not some egotistical fuckwit whose prime intention was to wind people up. As Des says above, if they hadn't mentioned the chance of cup final tickets they'd have been accused in the usual quarters of 'crap marketing.'

I think the worst that could be said was that it was one of those things that you risk having blow up in your face.

Mind you, outside this place, I doubt there have been more than a handful of people on the surface of the planet even talking about it.

After their announcer's nonsense, though, fuck it.

Tell you what, I'll go half and half with you.

I'm then going to bring my 140 to every home match and recreate that amazing atmosphere every other week.

Did you count the seats on select-a-seat?

In my defence, there weren't many to count.

Anyone up for a sweepstake on the official time that the first flag goes on sale on eBay tomorrow?

This is what our friends from Bradford think of their announcer

Perhaps we could start one for ours!

I believe we may be inviting their announcer to say a few words just before the game.

I did it earlier and it was just under 400 left. Just did it again (yes my life is that exciting) and it was about 180 left.
