Well yeah but I'm looking at the experienced players. The midfield is a major issue.

Agreed. Frustrating to think that signing Sissoko and Diarra would probably guarantee us staying up. £7m?

£ 3 million, we desperately need a strong centre mid more than anything.

No guarantees in football but even one would significantly increase our chances.

Come on Villa!

That's the most frustrating thing of it all, the fact that the addition of two, maybe three, players in the right positions, who needn't cost a fortune, would improve this side beyond measure.

There is a decent amount "right" with this side but it is getting buried under youthful lack of confidence after recent results.

Either we spend the money and get in the players who will add to the side, and coax that ability out, or we're done for.

I can not believe Lerner can just sit by and watch that happen.

Sorry Percy, didn't realise you meant for both.

You'd think. But I'm starting to come around to the fact that Lambert is complicit in this i.e. that he's telling Lerner he is happy going with what he's got.

Yeah, and I wouldn't say no to a centre-half. New TV deal sees the bottom club next season getting the same as the Champions last season. £60-odd million I think?

Somebody asked me today if Randy knows this.

I reckon this game is one of those where the first goal will be crucial. They get it and we've seen how our heads can drop, we get it with the run they are on and the yam yams might start turning on them.

I think a lot is going to be expected of Vlaar, perhaps too much?

I'm beginning to think that as well. I can't believe Randy wouldn't make money available with what is at stake.

Looks to me a 3 man midfield, think Clark will play in there.

That's got to be Clark in midfield, hasn't it? I mean, he has noticed that three at the back hasn't been, y'know, all that brilliant for us, hasn't he?

John Barnes: "...how will Westwood and Delph do in midfield..."

I can probably answer that one right no. Oh dear.

Three at the back should be better with Vlaar in it.
