1. Instead of 'doing a Portsmouth', Harry will do a Southampton. (Look it up if you can, his mates in the press like to airbrush it from history.)

2. Dave Whelan and the next Barcelona manager will get what's coming to them.

3. Brian McDermott will get what he deserves for trying to spoil the party all those years ago.

Beer. So underrated gets me through the toughest. Saturdays/Sundays/Tuesdays/Fridays

I thought you were off the sauce this month mate?

I was mate but I can't watch the Villa without drink and I have too many games in Jan, I'm putting it back to Feb.
I woud leave it until the end of the season Kingthing. The beer is a great healer in times of trouble. Go dry after the season ends (YOU WILL NEED THE BEER) ;)

So we can have a wee snifter before the Millwall game then?

I thought last season was bad. I can't believe this is happening again to Villa. Why haven't we learnt anything? We're leaving too much to chance now. We are going to go down. I'm resigned to it.

I was being moronic. Our bad patch started in August!

This time two years ago we were 1 win better off and ended up 9th. Ok I'm struggling.

With 11 better players than we have now. We're down. Sorry to say it.

Not in this thread, there's lots of others where you can give up on the season with 16 games left in the league and with both cups still a possibility!!

For me there's very little between the squads of the teams in the bottom half of the table, our squad has been tested by injuries whereas a lot of the other sides have been fairly lucky so far.

With the number of signings we made in the summer and the form we'd carried in from last year the first 4-5 were always going to be tough, then we started to turn it around and had a decent run from early october until the Chelsea game and, if we can get back to the form we were showing in that stable period in the middle (which I think is the true measure of the squad), we've got enough to get out of the bottom 3.

I also think Newcastle and Fulham will get drawn further into the mix and I don't think Wigan have the quality to escape again this year.  Add to that the fact that I just don't see QPR going on this amazing run that some of you are convinced will happen and that Reading are really poor and we've still got it in our own hands to fight our way clear.  A win at the weekend would be massive though, their form is as bad as ours so we just need to go at them and put a bit of pressure on from the start.
