Well Lambert's not a dead man walking but he's in the cell having the final rites read. Outplayed and outfought by a load of arse. A lot of people unfortunately had already booked  tickets for the final in their minds, as had probably Lerner so he's really going to pull something out the hat in the 2nd leg or he's history.

All credit to Bradford, they showed up and played, we let it happen. In a way I'm glad because hopefully it will give this lot the absolute kick up the arse they thoroughly deserve.
How many kicks up the arse do they need ?

Rest assured PL will still be in charge when we go down.

Quite.  We were told that we'd learn a lot about the manager and the players from how they responded to the Chelsea humiliation.....

As a football supporter I am very happy for Bradford fans tonight. They are a good club with some history. They have had absolutely crap time of late however today has been good for them. Their supporters were a picture of joy in and around the ground before the game , during the game and obviously after. Good very good memorable night for for fans. Sometimes this is how it should be.
Sounds like you've had a beer

I concur with that. Well done Bradford. Much as I hate to say it, they clearly wanted it more and thus far have been respectful victors.
I agree again. Well done Bradford. A stunning ,proper semi final cup tie. It is all up to us now H&V. It is in our capability to get to Wembley and we will get there, i am sure of that. We will never give up and we will always be Villa.

I don't think that our defenders are necessarily bad players as individuals, but they don't have any collective organisation or a leader. There are lots of examples of getting pulled out of position, and of last ditch challenges; there is a general lack of control and composure. Baker's sliding challenge half way through the second half was exhilerating, but was symptomatic of a general lack of control. As young players they would of course benefit from the steady presence of someone like Petrov in front of them. Bennett and Lowton both seem decent going forward, but Bennett in particular gets caught in possession a lot. Going forward we made a decent number of opportunities without exerting the kind of controlled pressure that you might expect playing a team from three divisions below.

There doesn't seem to be a plan, but intuitively it feels more that the guys on the pitch are not experienced enough to be able to carry out a plan, rather than there not being one at all.

I think at times like this we really need General Krulak to come on here and calm people down with his explanations of where and how Villa are improving.

The pies are very, very rarely cold now.

I am having problems getting decent tickets for the 2nd leg.  Call Nicky Keye she will sort you out....with some tickets to the opera instead.

I bring you a straw to clutch onto, come on, join me.

Opta: 'Aston Villa have progressed through 8 of their previous 13 League Cup semi-finals despite only winning 2 out of 13 first legs.'

Nicky Keye isn't with the club any more. They let her contract run down, wanted her off the wage bill.

She's been replaced by an embryo.

It's the Ajax way.

On paper its a winnable second leg. Its just our fucking useless defence, We could score 2 i reckon but keep a clean sheet? 3-1 and a penatly shoot-out looks our best bet

Chill guys.

It will be a cold and misty night on the 22nd.
As you walk to Villa Park you will feel the anticipation in the air.  You will smell the burger vans and hear the crowd.  It will be a full house.  The hairs will stand up on the back of your neck.

And we blitz these fuckers.

Amen.
