As others have said, it's not the defeat tonight, because this tie isn't over. It's more that there's been a dawning of realisation - this club really is in the shit. Right now. And people are worried we don't have the people in command who we can rely on to get us out of it before its too late.

By the way.  Didnt like the look of PL's demeanour in the post match interview or indeed during the game.   Has he been sacked already?

My demeanor wasn't great after the match either so it's not a massive surprise.

I wanted lambert but I'm not sure he can turn this around , the last month has been awful and he seems to have lost the inspiration , he looked a shadow of his forever self on the touch line .

Does he have a defensive coach on his staff? If he doesn't, he needs one fast, and if he does he needs sacking. We are conceding the same type of goals every week. It goes much further than inept.

Even average players can be made organised with the right coaching. You watch crosses come into our box through your fingers at the moment. Just awful.
No we need some players who are good enough, we dont have enough of them.

I'm pleased to hear Lambert is aware that once more, we need to go again. Quite where we're going, I'm not sure, but perhaps some of the players should stay there.

Fuck it, we'll twat them at VP.

Maybe we will but its only papering over the cracks- I'd fear what Chelsea would do to us at Wembley.

We look dreadful and are getting worse.

hysteria is so much more fun than sober reflection. It's half time; They were at home in front of a packed house that they probably have only experienced once before knowing that this in all probability was their one chance in their careers of glory. They played out of their skins. At VP our lot will be playing for their professional pride and a shot at redemption; they have to give it all and more again and will feel that complacency kicking in - they can't help it. We're the Villa - we've been here before and triumphed.

I watched that in the pub but was sober due to driving  >:(.
We were dire. Midfield were non existant or playing too deep so the only outball from defence was hoof. Nzog ran into blind alleys and lost the ball & Barry "Hollywood" Bannan sprayed passes across the pitch straight to the Bradford players.
The forwards got very little service other than punt and hope towards Bentekke.
Our left side is the obvious weak point and Bradford exploited it at will.
We looked nervous at the back every time they came forwards.
Bradford passed the ball well and fully deserved the result with 2 well taken headers.
Whenever the camera showed Lambert he looked like he had run out of ideas and didn't know what to do next.
Things need sorting NOW before it's too late.
Tranmere mk2 for the 2nd leg.

We can do it. But we won't.
