CNZ is the most pointless player in the world in my opinion. Doesn't pass and doesn't shoot. Just simply dribbles with the ball until he gets tackled. Yes he may beat one or two players but he eventually gives the ball away every time.

Normally I'd agree, but he had his moments tonight, and was the only player trying to move the ball forward with purpose instead of twatting it up the pitch and crossing his fingers.

It's hard to say anyone really did well tonight, but he was the best of a bad bunch.

I'm sorry but I don't agree. I remember CNZ having one decent shot in the first half and even then he held onto the ball for too long. Also why did we decided to try pointless diagonal long balls all night? There was zero urgency and the only time we kept the ball was when we were in our own third. And even then we were passing it around like we were 3-0. Just so so bad.

Anyone recall the last time we won a televised match? I can't think of a single one since Darren Bent's debut against Man City 2years ago! What chance of us in the return ?

I'm really not looking forward to work tomorrow or to seeing my mates at the weekend. Luckily I won't be able to follow the Soton game.

I still can't get over how bad bennett was. I know I keep saying it. But jesus christ. I'd like to think I could make a better fist of defending than he did tonight.

I don't know why everyone is hanging their hat on the return of Vlaar. He ain't that bloody good, and he's certainly no Macca, Laursen or Evans. Infact, I'd say he ain't much better than Collins. I'd much rather have a fired up Dunne back.

It's half time and we're two down.   Get behind the lads, get Villa Park rocking (even if the opposition score an early goal) and keep with the manager and players.  All the pressure is now on Bradford - we have nothing to lose.

Of course, and every fan has that belief. But after tonight, I don't believe that the players or manager do, God how I hope I am wrong.

A very nasty atmosphere up here tonight.

Appalling. Not a great deal to say. Benteke wants shooting. How many chances can you miss? And to let the Bradford player run off him for the third. Fuck me what rotten, piss poor fucking defending. Bring the lube as Ricky Lambert will rape us from set pieces.

The manager has a lot to answer for. The system was woeful. Qhere was the cover for

If this was Lambert's team I could point the finger but it's not his fault he's been left with this rabble. He showed at Norwich what he can build with little money and given time to build. Sadly I'm starting to think our time is running out as unless we get vlaar and dunne back soon and keep them fit until the end of the season, this defence stands no chance of keeping us up imo. Plus we desperately need 2 central midfielders who can pass.
I think I would give serious consideration to taking a draw if given it now ahead of Saturday's game. That's how desperate things have become. It's Southampton at home ffs...

The point is we should not be holding out against a team of this quality. They knew every set piece was an opportunity there was an expectation we would concede. That sort of weakness takes a lot of rectifying if indeed it can be with the current players we have.

Bradford snuck wins against Arsenal & Wigan by shutting up shop and defending for their lives. They just plain went at us and competed.

He also put the ball on a plate for Gabby and it was his shot in the 2nd half that the keeper couldn't hold that Bent headed over the bar.

More important than the embarassment tonight is the fact that we're destined for the drop! Wake up Lerner!

From the team and formation, Gabby, Benteke, Weimann and N'Zogbia all being forward players, it's clear that Lambert wanted to finish the tie tonight. It failed but by Christ we had some chances. They scored with their first chance and then had something to latch on to.

We've rightly hammered the defence and midfield but Benteke and Bent missed absolute sitters which would have completely transformed the momentum and atmosphere.

the commentators and pundits were talking about Premier League finishing against League two finishing but Villa were poor up front. You cannot miss those chances and expect to win games.

I like Benteke but he's very, very raw still. Weimann appears to be the best finisher at the club.

Oh, balls, is there anything that is right about this bastard team?
