I'm just catching up on Danny Baker's podcasts, Ugo Ehigou was one of yesterday's guests (tenuous Millwall Villa link time).

Be interesting taking a couple of thousand down there!

Think we may need a replay to get through this one, they're in good form in the championship.

Lost thier top scorer to Leicester and could lose few more which will help us as they have been going well.Work with Milwall fans so this is one I really wouldn't want to lose

Millwall away - not too bad!

Not too bad?  Could be a battlefield.  Not looking forward to this at all.

I wouldn't worry.

I've been to the New Den and its just full of chavs who think they're hard becuase they're supporting Milwall.

You get "bubbled" by the police if you are on the coach or train and with 4,000 Villa down there it will be alright.

I'll be able to get to this one. They'll be up for it and fancy an upset. I don't think we'll lose though. What will our allocation be I wonder?

Away fans are located at one end of the ground in the North Stand (usually in the upper tier only). Around 4,000 away fans can be accommodated in this end. Like the general improvement in football, a trip to Millwall is not as threatening as it once was. However, it is hardly a relaxing day out and I found the Den to be quite intimidating. The large police presence at the match I attended did nothing to dampen this feeling. I would advise that you exercise caution around the ground and not to wear club colours. The most popular method of travel for away fans to the Den, is by official club coach, or by train from London Bridge. The Police are well drilled in dealing with the coaches and supporters arriving by train. Once inside the ground you will generally find the stewards helpful & friendly.

Normally its upper tier only to stop the away fans being to close to the window lickers in the stand to your left backing up their unending gestures, however, we will likely get the lower tier as well.

This.

I covered Millwall for several years for the local paper.

The standard advice is not to drink in any of the local pubs, but these days there aren't any.

Get the northern line from Euston and change at London Bridge for South Bermondsey, it's one stop.

Afterwards you will get a Met escort back to the station.

I think we'll be looking for a pub some distance from the ground

Hm. I was at the Old Den when Jimbo Cumbes was felled by a lump of concrete from one of those friendly, loveable East End Cockerney Millwall 'fans'....wasn't not the most welcoming place then. Perhaps they've now changed their ways, who knows....but I'm not holding my breath.
