On the subject of badges, I have found a great use for the season ticket badge the club has provided.

As I have to wear a suit for work most of the time [especially when visiting customers] I can wear the little badge on the lapel of my jacket without is being obvious that it is a Villa badge. Its a great conversation piece when someone asks me what is is.

I remember when I was doing some tutoring work a couple of years ago, and after I'd gone into an office to train a couple of people, the subject got on to football. On my suit, I was wearing a little silver lion rampant that I'd bought outside VP a couple of weeks previously. The girl I taught asked me who I followed and I tapped the badge and said I was a Villa fan.

"Oh," she said. "I thought you really like Peugeot."

As has been mentioned it probably depends on which era you grew up in but it's this one for me. A thing of beauty. It instantly brings to mind memories of League Cup finals, Yorke in his pomp, Brian Little, etc. It forever tied the word 'prepared' to Villa for me.

I don't mind the current badge, it's clean and modern. I'm not one who has problems with the font either. I would have had "Aston Villa" rather than AVFC though.

When we first moved over here we test drove a Peugeot (fancy paying 30K for a 407?).  Both kids wanted it because "it's an Aston Villa car"
