So, will we all be wearing Andy Murray leisure wear in a few years time?
I was about to say that.

For me, Murray is the finest athlete to have ever played the game. His fitness levels, speed, power and stamina are so far removed from the tennis i remember as a child. The Beckers, Edbergs, Sampras's and Agassis of the past would be utterly blown away.

Was I the only person supporting Djokavic?

I was out swimming with the kids yesterday afternoon and missed the tennis. How did Murray get on? I'm surpirsed there's not been much coverage of it.

Hope the miserable Scottish twat lost

No. There is his GF, parents, friends and Serbia!

Djokovic is playing unbelievable to survive here, come on Murray.
However it was a 3-0 thrashing.
It was an excellent 3-0 win, to say it was a thrashing is to give Djokovic no credit for his display.
You can give Djokovic as much credit as you want however Murray thrashed him. Straight sets and no tie breaks in a major final is comprehensive.

And me

As far as I'm concerned, the place of birth / nationality of a sporting participant (whether an individual or a team) is no basis for deciding who you want to win.

Brummie Reds use a similar argument.

Excellent result, enjoyed watching, but hardly a shock that the the world's second seed won.

I agree totally, his ability to get around the court sets him apart, there were a fair few shots djokovic made yesterday that were winners against anyone else on the tour, but Murray has the fitness, mobility and drive to get to them and turn them into chances for himself.

I've missed every second of it

For about the last 10 years

It ranks somewhat lower than the boat race and the Grand National as the sporting non event of the year for me. Thank god for the Lions and Tour De France but each to their own and I can understand why others love it and probably hate the sports I love

That wasn't a three set thrashing, though.   Murray had to work really hard and earn every single point.  In fact, he came back from 4-2 down in both the second and third sets.   A three set thrashing would have been something like 6-2, 6-3, 6-1.

According to Alex Salmond commenting on his use of the Scottish Flag yesterday...

"The Saltire is our national flag, Andy is a fantastic, magnificent Scottish sportsman, anybody has got the right to wave the national flag, it's a great way to celebrate this amazing triumph."

Even as a 'Magnificent Scottish Sportman...'Andy can't vote in Alex's referendum as living in England he is not Scottish enough to vote, according to the SNP!
