Tempting to say that we may be in for a defeat to protect ourselves from disappointment if we do lose- but hopefully the players have belief that we can go there and win. Surely its part of that much-maligned losing/mediocre metality that we have felt at our place over the years to inbuild a sense of defeatism, pessimism.

We talk about the need for winners and a winning mentality- Germany and Fegie's United over the years spring to mind- so lets be positive and expect to get a result- if we are disappointed-so what?

Chelsea 1- Aston Villa 3    8) 8)

I kind of worry about Benteke playing a blinder and then their Care in the community owner whipping his cheque book out.

This does have a 'down to earth with a bang' feel about it, doesn't it?  I think we all accept that we're still a work in progress and there will be some disapointing performances and results between now and the end of the season.

That having been said, our defence remains strong, so with them jaded after their travels and a mid week game, I'm going for a dull 0-0.

They might still be tired, 2-2 .  But after Liverpool anything can happen.

No better time to play them.  Hopefully Leeds will turn them over in the League cup on Wednesday heaping more pressure on Rafa from the fans from the off.

We should be brimming with confidence, they should be worrying about how to contain the Beast.

A draw is the likely result which I'd take now.

I just hope we give it a good go, we normally have a decent record there all in all. So 2-1 to the good guys...

I'm sure we all accept there will be ups and downs this season, and this game is a s likely as any to be a down. But that's not the point.

Chelsea 1 (Cahill) Villa 3 (Cahill og, Benteke, Guzan (pen))

I have no idea who takes our pens, but it's about time we got one and Guzan has been playing well lately.
