I have that 2nd Goal on constant repeat thanks to the earlier posting during the match. That is Football Porn. (Like Wellbeck v Sweden).

Can't wait for match of the day as I haven't seen any proper footage of the game yet. It's ace to be looking forward to MOTD.

Why was Benteke booked? Did something happen after Glen Johnson tripped him over after ball, incidentally, when did being tripped over become a foul?

According to WM he raised his hands to Johnson.

And it did appear he did.  Hopefully MoTD will show our game for longer than a nano second and we will be able to see.

That is a quality win - the youngest Premier League side in Villa's history are belying their inexperience at the moment.  I still expect us to be  up and down all season but I do at last have genuine hope for the future.  Well done and take  note MO'N all this being done after we were forced to sell 60m of talent and replace it with 20m of hope.  I just hope Benteke doesn't become a big bollocks too quickly.  A couple of seasons with us will do him no harm whatsoever.

We're on second so should be decent highlights. Then again we are talking about the BBC.

No matter what way they try to dress it up (if they do) - we looked absolutely quality! 2nd goal really was all it was hyped up to be

Fingers crossed for a decent showing.  We deserve it.  Our second goal was awesome and the atmosphere fantastic.

A very pleasant surprise of a result.   I just watched on Football First and the commentator kept repeating how Liverpool could have had a pen for Clark holding Agger, despite the co-commentator (Horne?) pointing out at least twice that Agger also had a hold of Clark and the ref got it right.  Tosser.

Benteke really does look like a hell of a find, and that second goal was top notch.  We could have a more than decent strike partnership on our hands there.  Bannan had one of his better games, some lovely passing.

The ref did well not to let himself get pressured by the handball calls, but should have penalised Johnson for the incident where Benteke was booked.

One word for all of this today. Coaching.  These boys are trainning hard and getting taught stuff. This hasn't happend at Villa since SBL in my view. We have sadly lacked any significant coaching desire (not ability) for years. What I see with PL is a method and an overiding philosophy of coaching. This will take time to filter through but look how our kids are coming on now.

I am loving it.

Was there a fire drill with about 10 minutes to go?

There must have been in the home stands.

Good call. Converting Southgate to a centre half (albeit playing alongside the best ever Villa player), playing Taylor centre mid (Price of Darkness played him Wide Right at the Owls), changing formation and making Yorkie the main (man) threat. All good coaching and tactics. We were never as good once Gregory left to manage Wycombe - perfect combo of Little-Gregory-Evans.

This may have been posted elsewhere but I don't have the time or the inclination to check everywhere, but the Liverpool fans were fantastic during the Petrov 19 minute applause.  The Kop stood and applauded and the other stands followed.  Brought a tear to the eye.
