No question whatsoever that we were the better team and deserved to win - even Norwich fans have said as much .

What was nzogbia like when he came on , did he look as if he was up for it ? If we can get a fit and performing nzogbia and Delph then it adds to our options nicely.

Very direct if remember correctly but too be honest the last 15 minutes of the game is a wonderful blur, the football and the bedlam in the stands at that point was amazing!

I've only had a brief opportunity to digest everything this morning. I only found out about the result late into the night here due to bloody work commitments. Thankfully the OS had some brief highlights spoiled by Woodgob and his nonsense, but that said I hope they do put the whole game on there at some point.

I'm sure it has been mentioned by others but I'm really glad for Brett Holman. He really is an unsung hero, alomost forgotten at times. He works his bollocks off, almost Stan Petrov style and now is adding more by contributing goals from midfield. And generally they are complete belters. Up until QPR he was very unlucky with some tremendous efforts but it's great to see him getting what he deserves. He was a McTwat acquisition so I suppose we should be grateful for at least one thing that he did.

I see there is a positive thread started about the outlook for this group and the remainder of the season. I'll look forward to reading and contributing to that.

Andreas Weimann hailed the claret and blue faithful as they showed spectacular levels of support at Norwich, insisting: "It's a pleasure to play in front of them!"

Over three thousand fans made the three hundred and twenty mile round-trip to Carrow Road to cheer on Lambert's Lions.

And they weren't disappointed as Villa emerged 4-1 winners.

Weimann, who bagged the all-important brace in the second half, was astounded by the levels of support displayed by the travelling army.

He said: "The fans were absolutely unbelievable. It was incredible support from them from first minute to last.

"The stand where they were seated was absolutely full.

"It is a long way to come from Birmingham to Norwich but they came to support us in their thousands. Hats off to them!

"The way they supported us was brilliant. They have been amazing all season. It's a pleasure to play in front of them."

Weimann said the team are now "really excited" at a semi-final two-leg in the Capital One Cup.

He added: "It's brilliant. I am really happy to have scored two goals but the team as a whole were unbelievable. We're so excited about being through to the semi-finals.

"It means the world to me to score the two goals. For me it's brilliant. Obviously I want to score in every game I play. But I was just happy to score two in this one.

"Eric did brilliantly down the left for the first goal and I was lucky that no-one touched it and it came to me. It was a striker's finish - I just put it into the back of the net.

"Christian did brilliant for my second goal. He looked up and saw me at the edge of the box and put a lovely ball in for me. All I had to do was put my leg there and put it in.

"The first goal from Brett was really important. They scored and then we hit back a minute later. That put us straight back into the game. The final goal from Christian was a brilliant finish too.

"The main thing is we're through to the semi-finals. We're really looking forward to that."

From the highlights on Weimann's first goal I got the impression Benteke dummied it so it would go through untouched.

Think Holman is another captain candidate in the "leads by example" sense.

Now he seems to be getting the final ball and shot right and we have been crying out for goals from midfield- if he can continue to deliver the end product he will be a great asset.

Wouldn't it be a real shame if 21st December turns out to be the end of the world as predicted by the Mayans just as we get into the League Cup Semi Finals and we really seem to be getting a team together which is going somewhere. At least we won't need to worry about Chelsea (A).

We won't get relegated though! ;-)
