For those who went, how did the midfield - including N'Zogbia when he came on -do? Did the formation look worth persisting with?

We bossed the midfield, Delph was outstanding, and N'Zogbia coming on for Holman at that point opened the game up for us, and I think he had a hand in the all three goals.

Special mention for the utter coolness displayed by Benteke for the third goal, could have rushed it and took it on himself, but he just waited for Weimann and stuck on plate fo him.

I think I'm with Brian on him, he's almost flawless and he's such a team player.

Just watched the highlights on AVTV. Some thoughts:

- looked a bit like we played 4 at the back, with herd at rb and Lowton right mid. Is that right?
- baker messed up for their goal
- nzogbia was involved in all 3 of our late goals from a left hand side position. The ability to bring on that sort of player late in the game was evidently important in earlier games at st James park and v Swansea. I have a feeling nzogbia is going to make a significant contribution in the last 15 at anfield on Saturday too . .
- finally Benteke puts his laces through it! Looked a great team goal
- interesting to see whether delph or KEA has done enough to come into the side for Saturday
- lichaj set up a goal with his left foot!

Excellent display. I've got a semi on.

Goals were on SSN this morning, beauties they were too.

A weeks time after the Chelsea game.

SSN are also showing a rather terrific save by Given. The goals look terrific and Bent was unlucky. It seems that Villa had 17 shots (11 on target) compared to 9 (4?) by Norwich so well done all round.  The 'edge' that was missing appears to have been found!

Yet, when I flicked on WM in the car as I took the missus to work, Franks was saying it was all Norwich with the chances in the game( this was a minute or so before Weeman's first.) I wished we could get a partisan commentator on WM again.

An unbiased one would be a start. But on a night like this, fuck them. If anyone ever asks you what makes three thousand people make an expensive seven hour round trip in freezing cold, foggy, horrible weather two weeks before Christmas, tell them about tonight.

Amen Dave.

Paul franks wasnt even there last night, I had the game on and thought the commentary on wm was very good and praised villa throughout , there were times when Norwich had a hot spell and I can only assume you turned on at that point - wm have rightly been criticised in he past but last night they were very pro villa and excellent in their broadcast.

Just home from the game.

He is better than Frankie Broome, better than Trevor Ford, better than Gerry Hitchens, better than Luc Nilis, better than Garry Thompson, better than Cyrille Regis, better than Dalian Atkinson, better than Andy Gray, better than Alan McInnally, better than Peter Withe, better than John Carew.   He is the best centre forward I have ever seen in a Villa shirt.
Well, Brian, I value your opinion and this is as big a claim as I've seen.
I hope you're right and I also hope that Villa's fortunes can grow as Benteke's game grows so that he gives us as much of his time as we can possibly get before someone else's money drags him away.

And we need to nurture Weimann and "A.N. Other" striker at the same time, in order to insure against a Benteke injury or sale.

Reasons to be cheerful.

PS out of the list you posted last night, Andy Gray and Dalian were always my favourites; the former for his fearless and usually rapier-like striking, the latter for his individual brilliance (shame about his lethargy).

Last night against an in form Norwich on their own patch we had a quite magnificent victory. It was fully deserved.

What did we get from the media? At 7.35 this morning on the BBC round up  they spent about 10mins on Arsenal and their defeat. That Nugent woman managed to give our result and that was us dealt with. On Sky Sports news at 8.00AM we didnt make an appearance until 8.15AM.

They should be ashamed of themselves.

Come to think of it Bradford didnt get the credit they deserved either.

All the goal celebrations were mental, but the fourth goal, which meant nothing by then, was celebrated like a winner from the sheer joy of seeing us score a goal like that.

But not better than Billy Myerscough Brian!

What a night the support was fantastic! No voice and a sorehead this morning but well worth it.

I thought it was a very open game at times and we did ride our luck but we looked world class in spells.

Don't want to single out players as I thought the whole team played well!

du du du du du du du du Andi Weimann!

I really think Leeds at eland road could turn Chelsea over especially after a long trek home from Japan - this could be our year folks!

Delighted to hear Delph was outstanding , how did kea and nzogbia do?
