This might have only affected a very small minority of us, but I would have liked the opportunity to download my site to another server so it could have been maintained. I have now lost a lot of archived information which I no longer have access to, in particular my Tony Barton tribute.

I could, and would, have hosted this part of Villa's blogging history on my own little server as I use the Manila facility. Sorry to drag this up but I think it is totally out of order what Steve Hooker has done with no prior warning. He has gone against his word of continuing to provide this service. It would have been quite easy to 'Download a site' but the opportunity for this was removed long before the sites were deleted.
