Get Ireland on. We badly need some creativity.

We played better than this when we lost 5-0 to City.

Clark alongside Laursen, Westwood alongside Barry, Bannan alongside Milner. Just examples, but some of these young players of ours learning the game alonsgside some experienced heads would have been genuinely quite exciting. All in together though, and it could end badly.

They might have developed a bit better but it would still have weakened our squad.

How many of these players would have got in to our first 11 3-4 years ago? Or even the bench? Benteke maybe, Guzan on the bench. That's about it I'd say.  It's all well and good rebuilding, and I'm sure given time they won't always be bottom-three players, but there's very few of them who look like they'd be comfortable in a mid-table to top 6 team.

All being well, we'll be up there with the Fulhams of this world in a few years.

This has to be one of the worst halves of top flight football ever.  Both teams are dire.

I think VP could turn on Lambert tonight. Fair enough to leave out Bent and Ireland when it works, but he is looking ridiculously stubborn in the face of the clear evidence that we need experience and quality. He has some serious questions to answer.

That was desperately poor.

Really not good enough. We look like a team that deserves to go down.
