Guzan, Petrov, Vlaar, Westwood and/or Benteke for me. Getting closer!

Holman was 2 inches away from glory on Saturday. I am in the same position Every Saturday. ;D

Clark because, out of all of them, he really has been thrown into the deep end and has grown in stature with every game. I think he will learn so much from Vlaar and eventually could be our captain.

A good spread then by the early voters, interesting times.

I do really hope that if we do drop, the club and fans stick with Lambert and this squad and see them grow and come back up.

Steve - saw Johnson was subbed after 36 minutes for Yoevil for not being too good last week, has he struggled out on loan?

I have no idea. The last I heard Yeovil wanted to extend the loan so I assumed he was doing well. Have just had a look around and he was indeed subbed early and then sent back to VP with a week to go on the loan.

It's been a long time since I felt such an affinity with the vast majority of our squad.

Benteke has become the player who has probably been most talked about when AVFC is mentioned. But Lowton-Concrete-KEA have had a big impact in the team. Think Weimann will become a massive player for Villa in the near future ...........

I dont see what big impact kea has had on our team- I think he's been the only new signing who has looked below par.

I admit his form has slipped. But he started really well and against Newcastle he was excellent. Not having a go at Bennet but i think he is the one player who looks very lightweight especially when you look at how well Lowton has adapted .....

Just my own slant on this, but your favourite player is not always the one you consider the best player
You can have a personal favourite for any number of reasons but he doesn't have to be the best player in the team

For example, and I will give my age away a bit here, but my all time favourite Villa player is Frank Carradus, always has been always will be, but he wouldn't make the top 30 of the best players I have seen at VP

Indeed John, Tony Daley is one of my all-time favourite Villa players, but he wouldn't be that high in the best player i've seen list.

As said I've mentioned before, the difference between Lowton and Bennett is that Lowton had a full summer with a premier league team, Bennett didn't and has had a few niggly injuries early in the season as well so he's been really disrupted.  Given that I think he's settled in ok but needs an injury free run for a month or 2.

Thats a good point Paul. But two months is a lot of games and if we do not defend as a unit now it will get harder to gain any momentum. Think Lichaj is a more established player and has a lot of prem experience to deal with our battle .......

Wee Barry is my favourite. I love the idea of him as a player, and the prospect of him playing in the first team the way he used to for the reserves (not that I'm anywhere near sure yet that it will happen). He's the best player I've ever seen at that level, completely dominating games and dictating the way we played. If he can do that in the Premier League we will be a joy to watch.

I like our squad to be honest. No twats I know of. I do feel kinda bad for Shay.

Favourite? Probably Holman right now, I really love to see him bombing around.

I find myself not wanting to elevate Benteke up to favourite level as I can see him wanting away in the not too distant future and seeing everyoone on here calling him a judas bastard. In the meantime though i'll say he's exciting to watch.

Lowton for me, he has been superb, even when moved to centre back.
He was far better on Saurday after he'd moved to CB. I thought his first half was poor, with Podolski beating him comfortably several times (he seemed to get pulled out of position alot).
But, for the season so far, I agree that he's played really well.
