Despite the press telling us about his love for Villa, I was pretty underwhelmed when we signed Ian Taylor from Sheffield Wednesday.  You could say that he did pretty well for us.

I remember Ken McNaught was pretty impressive in the '77 League Cup final(s) playing for Everton, so I was very happy when he came to Villa Park.

Unfortunately, he was pretty much a disaster in his first season with us and it was hard to see how he even made the team. It took him a whole season to settle in and become a legend.

Ugo in the 2-3 vs Norwich had a real mare, but became a Holte hero, even though he did chase the dream with Mouthgate afterwards.

Chris Nichol was a tough act to follow too

I thought Angel was going to be a flop after his first season.
