Not sure it would be my chosen line up, but I think we will see (if Vlaar is out):

                   Guzan

Lichaj   Lowton    Clark   Stevens

        Westwood    Bannan

Weimann       Holman       Gabby

                   Benteke

With Vlaar out, I think it would be an ideal time to switch to a 3-5-2 formation, but I can't see that happening.

Bent and Ireland in for me. Baker to replace Vlaar and Lichaj at LB. Not an absolute must win but the team have got to start a run at some stage and there seems a good opportunity here ........

Its not gonna happen, but i'd love to see us go with Benteke and Bent up front,as the former has shown he can create chaos in the box, which Bent would thrive on.

And i'd like us to go with four across the midfield, which i think we could do without the middle being over run,as Bannan and Holman have the natural ability to drift in-field,and support Ireland and Westwood.

If I went 4 across the middle, Westwood and KEA is the pair I would go, with Bannan left and Holman right. Carrying Ireland in there would be too much.

If Ireland can't make a difference against teams like Reading and QPR then it's 'Con te partiro'

By John Cross | 25/11/12

Paul Lambert signalled the end of Darren Bent’s Villa career after telling the England striker he is now just a squad player.

Bent was furious after being left out again and this time did not even make the bench as Villa failed to score against Arsenal. Former Chesterfield rookie Jordan Bowery, a bargain £1m signing, was preferred on the bench as back-up to first choice striker Christian Benteke.

Bent is now desperate to get away in January and Lambert has now made their fractured relationship even worse by insisting the £22m record signing can like it or lump it.

When quizzed on choosing Bowery over Bent, Villa boss Lambert said: “That’s my decision. I’m the man that picks the team. Listen, it’s my choice and I’ve 26, 27 lads that I have to look after.

“Everybody’s in it together and I need everybody in it together. I know the disappointment when you don’t play, I know I was dropped about five million times, but that’s the nature of the game.

“If you could pick everybody you would. Darren’s still part of it but I've got 25, 26 guys to take care and think of.

“Darren’s fine. There’s nothing at all. The most important thing is Aston Villa Football Club.”

An absolute must-win. Defeat is unthinkable.

Defeat is okay, if you ask Idi Amin's chiropodist.

I think Reading will fancy this and come looking to win.
This should suit us and we can hit them time and time again on the counter.
3-1 home win.

They look quite poor at the back. It's a game we should be taking 3 points from.

Let's hope we see Bent back in some capacity for this one.
