Oh dear, the other team that must love playing at Villa Park. Can anyone remember the last time we beat them at VP i certainly cannot. Hate to say it,but i can see us conceding another 3 or 4 goals with our so called defence 3-1 to the arse .

Was it Dec 99 under Gregory the Father Christmas game that we won 3-2?  13 years ago, what an awful record.

We'd have lost if Santa hadn't hit the roof.

Cheers, Santa. We owe you one :)

Someone will no doubt put me right but did the parachutist in question lose a limb following the accident but then married his nurse/ physiotherapist? I remember it was a horrific accident and it all appeared to be played out in slow motion.

If we keep things tight at the back, i.e defend like we did against Sunderland, then Benteke is always a goal threat....

Any decent team news? Will Enda Stevens have to make way??

Yes that's what happened. Nothing funny about it at all.

Walcotts out for them,so if we can keep things tight in midfield, ill reckon well sneak a two one win.

Was awful, definitely felt like slow motion. He seemed to hang on for a few seconds then just fell. I suppose at least he lived, looked a whole lot worse at the time

i remember one christmas time we absolutely battered them and they went 2-0 up with their only 2 attacks of the game at that point. their second goal was sumptuous. zat knight with the injury time equaliser.

I still love Zat for that. One of those players who's not half as bad as the stick here suggests.

i think a lot of it stems from the fact we had a superb young centre back in gary cahill who was shoved down the pecking order with his signing.

Darren Bent has scored six goals in seven Premier League starts against Arsenal.  (from BBC sport)

Do you think PL looks at that site or this one?

Fuck it, time for super-optimism. If Norwich can beat Man Utd we can beat Arsenal. Benteke could have been moulded out of Wenger's worst nightmares, and PL will over-compensate for his touchline absence with even more intense preparation. The lads will have been stung by last week's result and the injustices that went with it, and will come roaring out of the blocks at Arsenal with the huge crowd making a terrific atmosphere under the lights.

3-2, a classic game, Benteke crucial for us, us unable to keep Wilshere quiet all game but to ride out the late storm. Giroud to miss a sitter at the Holte End for some light relief.
