Difficult to see how we'll get much from this one.  We might match them for 50-60 minutes but they'll be able to step up a gear or bring some good subs on and that will probably be that. 3-1 Arse i reckon.

I definatley would'nt play Stevens in this one but i would'nt play Clark at left back either. Whilst it's not ideal, i'd stick Lichaj there, Baker alongside Vlaar and give Clark a game in midfield alongside Bannan and Ireland and give Westwood a breather.

No way would I leave Westwood out . Why would he need a breather , he's only played a handful of games- nice to see bent back fit.

He's been good, but young players do need taking out the side from time to time, it dose'nt do them any harm. Besides, i prefer Clark as a midfielder than a defender.

I take your point , but he's only just got into the side and I don't think he needs a breather, I agree Clark may be a better defensive midfielder than defender and therefore would like to see baker alongside Vlaar.

Maybe Westwood alongside Clark and in front of them Ireland along with 2  out of Weimann,  bannan and gabby ?  Benteke as the strike option, although bent being fit and available is good news as I expect him to get some game time off the bench.

4-0 Villa. You watch.
I'll take a feed for that game please.

I'll try and set up a link to my fevered imagination.

Id throw Bent in with Benteke and Weimann either side on attack  . Ireland , Westwood and Bannon in nidddle.  Bring Baker in for Enda , with baker or Clark at RB.

2-1  Villa

We are going to get spanked 3-0. We don't know how to mark or defend set pieces.

What a difference having two, experienced and decent full-backs would make. Hutton, Warnock, Stevens, Bennett and Leehigh all on the payroll but none of them fit the bill.

Villa 4-7 Arsenal. Two crap defences,  Benteke will batter them but their wide men will take the piss. Will they sign Henry in time for the game?

Think we'll probably lose this. But I imagine the team and tactics should basically be the same as v man u. That performance again should beat arsenal. I'm more worried about the reading game. That's more of a need to win game, but no doubt there will be a crap attendance, flat atmosphere etc. lambert will have to get them up for it because there's a real risk we get a flat performance.
