1614:
BBC Radio 5 live's Jimmy Armfield on Roberto Mancini's on the decision to give a penalty at Etihad Stadium:

"The corner kick came in, and as far as I can see, the ball was put over the top. I could not see a penalty as the Villa player lunged at the ball, and Yaya Toure got to the ball, and it went over the top.

"I cannot for the life of me see that. The linesman gave it and he was 40 yards away.

"All the Villa players ran over to him and manager Paul Lambert was remonstrating with him.

"I have thought of handball, but there was none. Vlaar slid at Toure and that is why, maybe, it was given, but there was absolutely no appeal from the Manchester City players.

A poor decision given against us last week vs Manure. An even worse one given a week later when we play ManCity. Most depressing thing is i'm not remotely surprised.

The more I watch it the more I can't believe any fair and impartial official would ever make that decision. I wish Vlaar had chinned the bastard.

We're a small team these days, unfortunately when it comes to this sort of thing.

Nothing from Ireland today.  Even less from Weimann.

Reading have equalised.  If they nick a winner we're in the bottom three.

Barry and Toure should have certain yellows.

dont agree with taking off Ireland at all. Gabby has been useless in the extreme today and should have gone
