A friend of mine who is an Arsenal fan (a proper one as well) just posted this on Facebook.

I love that. That goal by Villa. Loved how Benteke showed strength when Smalling tried to knock him off the ball.

Nothing pisses me off more than the thought that if we'd played like that all season today would have been our first defeat.
back on track, agree, i thgink that  PL has found a formula and team that can do OK.

I think it is because we played well that losing hurts that little bit more tonight.

A tremendous performance, which against any other team in the universe would have got us at least a point. There are so many positives to take from this game, and if we play even half as good as that for the rest of the season, then we'll have no problems with staying up.

I really like the team we're slowly becoming.

Agreed, we shouldn't get our knickers in a twist over today. we've played well the last 2 games, lets keep it going.

Just got back to Bedfordshire and too knackered to read previous 18 pages but I am not downhearted, disappointed yes, but I feel more confident about the remainder of the season and that we have a great team, a great Manager and we will win more than we lose and it will be a real joy watching this young side develop. Good night everyone.

Still reckon our best performances are when Ireland and Bannan are in the team, I think they are the best two mids we have at the moment

i didnt think he did, a definite weak link. played hernandez on for their first and a dismal effort for their third. not good enough.

I was wondering how big the gap is in terms of experience between Villa & Man Utd today so a quick stat mission shows

Premier League caps for their respective clubs (starting XI plus subs used )

Aston Villa 580 Caps (most of them being Gabby) VS Man Utd 2068 Caps

These don't even take into account RVP's Arsenal Caps, Ash Young's Villa Caps etc.

The more games this Villa team plays the better they will get.

I'm happy with the performances today from our Lions.

I think you need to consider how big a game it was for his first Premier League start. He didn't look to out of place and made a few brave runs. Out of him and Bennett I'm not sure who I'd play.
