Any news on whether it will be chosen for TV?
I imagine the tv will concentrate on arsenal & Chelsea
Better for us if we stay beneath the radar

The Chelsea match is the following week due to them being involved in the World Club Challenge (so will play Leeds midweek before playing us!).  Therefore, if there are 2 television slots they only have 3 games to pick from, and I would imagine Bradford's match will be one of them.
Why would there be 2 television slots? Did sky show 2 Rd 4 games?

They only showed 2 this week

Then I'd say there's a good chance our game will be on TV

I can't see Sky passing up the opportunity of showing Lambert's return to Norwich. If it is on the tellybox, i can definatley see free coaches being put on.

I think Leeds v Chelsea and Bradford v arsenal are Certs to be televised- would be extremely surprised if villa are chosen.

I think sky are only allowed to show 2 live games each round, so they would just show Leeds v Chelsea the following week.

The two TV games are Bradford v Arsenal on 11th December and Leeds v Chelsea on 19th December.  Frankly staggered our game isn't on, but I guess that makes up some minds to get over to Norwich and fill our allocation?.

I was debating whether to go, simply because it's such a ballache to get to and from, especially in midweek, but ticket permitting I will definitely be there for this.   I was another one who was at the Quarter Final in 1984 and the thing that I remember most was "The Bells are Ringing" making a welcome return that evening.  Sung for what seemed an eternity as we won 2-0 (Rideout??) and surged to the Semi Finals.   Great win, because I think we had been humped a week earlier 3-0 at the same place in an FA Cup 3rd Round Replay.

I still remember that handball on the line in the semi at Goodson that denied withe a goal - dreadful decision.

Yes, I went to both games. After the FA Cup game I  was telling every Norwich fan I saw 'wait til next time, we'll take over the fucking place', and I was right. 'The Bells' was awesome that night. I think we only took about 250 in the FA Cup.

Here's a question - how many different names has it had over the years

UTV
Period   Sponsor   Name
1960–1982   No main sponsor   Football League Cup
1982–1986   Milk Marketing Board   Milk Cup
1986–1990   Littlewoods (retailer)   Littlewoods Challenge Cup
1990–1992   Rumbelows (former retailer)   Rumbelows Cup
1992–1998   Coca-Cola (soft drink)[8]   Coca-Cola Cup
1998–2003   Worthington's (brewer)[9]   Worthington Cup
2003–2012   Molson Coors (brewer)[10]   Carling Cup
2012–2016   Capital One (credit card)[11]   Capital One Cup

I think 'Carling Cup' has been the best one. Rolls off the tongue far better than any of the others.
I refuse to call it anything but "The League Cup"

The most disturbing part of this is that it was nearly 29 years ago and I remember it all very clearly, apart from not being sure on the scorers.  Where have all those years gone too :-)

Anyway, I think we will take as many as they give us to this game and hoping we can get 4k or so tickets?.  Really looking forward to it and so glad I have a spare half day to use on my holiday allocation

8.05am train out of New Street - pub by 12.15 until 2.45 (remember afternoon closing ?) then walking down the street wondering how to kill some time to be invited to a 'beer tasting' in some side street hotel (where one of the market researchers remarked that one of our party had "had quite enought already") before back to the pub and then a top result. All capped off by blagging a lift home on one of the coaches last train having long gone.
Oh to be 19 again.
Yes, I managed to blag a lift on a coach home after getting that train. We managed to find a pub open in the afternoon too. A great day.

Yes Perce, I thought of that League cup game as soon as I saw the draw last night. 'The Bells' always reminds me of  that night in Norwich. It seemed to be sang constantly through the game.

No the disturbing thing is knowing I was definitely there but not being able to remember it!
I do remember Pompey away in the first round clearly though, and the semi at Goodison.
As for our allocation Spurs got 3,500 at £30 each last night so we'll probably get the same but with added Lambert compensation tax.

I was there but can't remember much after about 1973. The fact that beer addles the brain may have something to do with it.
I remember a night match there in the 70s when they ran a Special. Usual mouth like a parrots cage after a few beers earlier. Some blokes got on, who had the the ground early, with a curry and some cans. Jealous or what?!
