Might they put on the jinxed free coaches for this? 3rd time lucky?
I sincerely hope not.

What sort of team did Norwich play against Spurs tonight? Full strength?

Not exactly their first choice.

Norwich City
28 Bunn Booked
03 Whittaker
06 Turner
23 Tierney
24 R Bennett
08 Howson
11 Surman (Holt - 82' )
15 Fox (Tettey - 68' )
21 Butterfield (Jackson - 68' )
07 Snodgrass
16 Morison
Substitutes
13 Rudd
18 Garrido
20 Barnett
17 E Bennett
27 Tettey
09 Holt
10 Jackson

We won at Man City in this competition already.

Of course we can go and win at Norwich.

Lest we forget, we are currently shite, and Norwich couldn't beat us despite us being so grim, and playing a chunk of the game with 10 men.

I am as worried as the next man about our shiteness, but really, defeatism over a cup draw away at Norwich City?

A bit of spine please, gents.

My current pessimism is based on our record there. I'd have felt the same if we were 20 points clear at the top and Norwich were bottom of the Conference and we drew them in the FA Cup.

We've only played there twice in the last 15 years plus, and drawn one, lost one.

Not the best of records, admittedly, but we could have been looking at a tie with Chelsea or Arsenal right now.

I'd also rather go and play away at Norwich than Leeds. I can see PL getting us pumped for that one, whereas Leeds would just be like last night, except with a more elevated chance of cacking it up.

It's not the easiest tie, but it's not really daunting.

I'd have preferred Arsenal!

I've just had a quick scan and the only win I can see we've had there since we won the league was the LC QF in 84. Surely we must have won 1 other game there? We've played them over a dozen times.

Still, maybe it's an omen that we only win in the LC there?

Course we can fucking win, its norwich city ffs! Some of the negative comments on here are a complete joke! It could have been a lot, lot worse..

Looks like this could be an over nighter, i just hope they don't put it on sky so we take over the place.

In lambert we trust!

Here's a question - how many different names has it had over the years

I'm not worried about beating them.  I'm just pissed off that it's a game 4 hours away on a Wednesday night in the middle of December.

I'd be well happy if Norwich happened to be where Coventry is.

I am not a man of violence, but I'd dearly love to set about that c*** Jamie Redknapp with a cricket bat.

With nails in it.
You mean you'd smash it?

clappy thing.

It's the draw I thought we'd get and I think we'll win it.  Gutted to have avoided Bradford but we'll probably do better against them over two legs in the semi than we would have in the quarters. How nice would a semi final line up of Boro', Bradford, Leeds and Villa be?

I think 'Carling Cup' has been the best one. Rolls off the tongue far better than any of the others.

And let's stop all this talk of fixing too ffs.  It's clearly not fixed for Sky 4 clubs to get easy draws - look at the round just gone.  It's just random.

I didn't mean fixed so a big club would win it, more that there were lots of games that were potentially good games for TV, games that had a compelling narrative, which would attract attention to the competition and therefore attract advertising revenues and boost the cup's profile.

Do I genuinely think it's fixed?  Probably not.  Do I care if it was?  No, it's ultimately entertainment.

Cheers aftab, now there's a trip down memory lane!

As for Norwich, I am confident provided more width is used in attack. Two out of our 3 goals last night were from crosses and Benteke seems to thrive off them.

Rather Norwich than Spurs which it would have been.  Both teams will think its winnable, should be a good tie.
