Lichaj is a car crash full back but it really is Hobsons choice just now.
Harsh.
Clark should be fit and there's talk of playing Westwood in MF.
Not sure whether Westwood is ready for it, but I guess we'll find out later today.

Everything I've read and heard regarding Westwood has been positive, I have a feeling once he gets into the side he will stay there.

----------Guzan

Lowton-Vlaar-Clark-Lichaj

--Bannan-Delph-Ireland

Weimann-Benteke-Gabby

Id take Bennett out the firing line. That midfield will keep the ball against Sunderland and the front 3 will work hard and will create chances.

Finding the lack of Westwood appearances quite mistifying. All the reports before we signed him, were positive and a "Carrick" like player is how he was described. If we can score early there fans will turn on MON and i am sure our fans will not be shy to join in !!! Cuellar will struggle in the air with Benteke and O`shea is having a mare. I am strangely confident 0-2 Benteke Weiman. Come on the Villa ..........

Has draw written all over it.  1-1

Be interested what the attendance is: I've had three or four emails in the last few weeks from University of Sunderland's Alumini Office hearlding their partnership with SAFC and offering cut-price Family Stand tickets for this fixture. Not quite Kids-For-A-Quid, but going along that road - there was a slight air of desperately trying to shift them.

Agreed. Car crash is a term I'd associate with Delph. Please don't play that useless twat. And Albrighton.

Guzan
Lichaj, Lowton, Vlaar, Bennett
Weimann, Ireland, Delph, Gabby
Bent, Benteke
I am so pleased you are not our manager. Did you not think about recalling Fonz to play at centre back?

There's not a lot wrong with that team. I'd probably leave Bent out for another centre-mid, but I can see the sense in going all-out attack with a 'let's just outscore them' approach . If we did that in all our games it would probably increase our win percentage in the long run.

I predict around 38,000. Money is tight up here at the minute, and is rightly affecting attendance numbers, though the current form is not helping either. Be my last live game in a long while, at least until i get another job with "decent" wages. SAFC are obviously looking at things in the right light imo, better to have 100% of a lesser ticket price, than zero% of a full price ticket. It's the way things are currently, though i agree up to a point, that current form is not helping matters.

38,000 would be a fantastic attendance in the current climate.

Is this Hobson any good? - I take it he is from the Youth squad or one for the future from Division 2 :)

it seems that bennet is to go straight back into the team
imo he is not up to this grade at present and it could do more harm than good

I was thinking last night how did teams use to sit and frustrate us at VP under M'ON,push the full backs on to stop the wingers, and play through the midfield where eventually we were over run. So as M'ON hasn't changed, and as were under strength,id go for:

                    Guzan
Lowton     Vlaar     Clark    Lichaj
          Westwood   Delph
 Holman        Ireland       Gab
                   Benteke
