Don't be like that. It's a classic, like that episode of dad's army where the Germans invade.

Seeings as our defence is looking in a bit of a fragile state, i wonder if playing a 5 man midfield might be the way to go on Saturday. Maybe something like this........

                       Guzan

Lichaj         Vlaar     Lowton     Bennett

Holman   Ireland  Delph  Bannan  Gabby

                      Benteke

We might have to see the return of Hutton on the bench for this one.

Interesting line up clampy, wouldn't be against giving it a go, I'm surprised to see you in here when there's such a lively mon thread on the go, my old friend.

I've not even sat and read the MON thread, i'm not interested, it's been done to death.

Thrilling news clamps- at last you are over him - well done mate!

On the game front Clark has a chance of being fit and whereas last week lambert said dunne was still a long way off he now seems to be making good progress too.

I think we'll win this one. Sunderland are a poor side. I know O Neill will want to win this one. But I do think that we'll want to get one up on the fucker more. Norwich came here last week looking hungrier than we did and wanting to stick a couple of fingers to Lambert. Hopefully we'll do the same to Pubehead.
Benteke's in good form. I also fancy Bent to get a start. The ex-factor could prove useful. I'd fancy him to net if he plays.

Also from the cup game we need to see Ireland bring that kind of form and contribution into the league. I hope he starts and he's up for it.

0-2
Benteke
Bent.

I just can't see him starting with Bent after Gabby and Benteke scored in the week.  I would like to see PL mix it up a bit though and go with a 4-5-1 / 4-2-3-1 formation.  Any injury news on Herd and is KEA suspended for this game?

I'd go KEA for Delph otherwise the same.

He's suspended.

Our central defence and central midfield could look very weak on Saturday.

Which is why i'd be tempted to pack the midfield out. It sounds a bit negative but with Bannan, Ireland and Holman in there, there would be some attacking intent.

All very well saying they'll be up for it, but who, other than Gabby, are ex-MON players?

If PL plays the team that started against Swansea and Newcastle, with perhaps Benteke in for Bent, I think we'd have a good chance.  As it is I can see a 0-0 or a 1-1.  Fletcher most likely but any player out of form or in need of a goal seems to come good against us so wouldn't be surprised if Adam Johnson or Sessegnon pop up with one. Benteke or Bent most likely for us, but would love to see Weimann get one.

We need to stop them from scoring long enough for the wonderful passionate Sunderland support to get on their team's backs. Though in all honesty there is no chance we will keep a clean sheet
