Hard to call any villa game these days - if the team turn up and play like at Newcastle we can win, Sunderland are low on confidence too so the first goal will be vital- I think 0-0 is the most likely score but if we can nick a goal I think we would win.

"One more game to show you from the Barclays Premier League and that's at the Stadium Of Light where Martin O'Neils Sunderland faced struggling Aston Villa, in the north east for us, Simon Brotherton"

Sunderland to win 2-0 with their only two attempts on target.

This has got 0-0 written all over it, but I quite fancy us to nick it here.

0-1 Villa, Bent '74

If Sunderland aren't leading by half time they will be booed off. We need to turn that kind of atmosphere to our advantage. My heart says a win, my head says 1-1.

I think Martin O'Nil-Nil's Sunderland will have too much for us here. 2-0 to the home side. Defense and midfield all over the place at the moment.

You didn't need your crystal ball to call it, but you're bang on the money there I reckon.

The way the two teams are playing, it's not going to be a classic is it?  Still, at least we're coming in off a win.

I'm not sure whether that's a good or bad thing looking at our record so far this season

The build-up to include every broadsheet doing a feature on Villa post-O'Neill, the BBC live feed to be full of Twitter posts about how we shouldn't have sacked him, OptaJoe to say 'Villa finished sixth three times under O'Neill, but haven't since. Backwards', and Steven Fletcher to score a header on the hour with their worst chance. Media world to have collective orgasm, O'Neill to say they were terrific, Bent to be captured sulking on the bench and Lambert to say 'we go again'.
