lol Gabby's post game interview "We would have loved to have gone on and scored 3 or 4 you know, but they came on strong."

I love the bloke, daft as a brush like but still I love him.

You're a lot more positive than I am. I thought we did what we had to in the first half, containing and hitting on the break well, but the first 40 minutes of the second half were as bad as anything I've ever witnessed, and what Benteke was doing being stuck on the wing God knows. The substitutions were bizarre but worked in that we went shit or bust for five minutes and got the initiative back. Most important thing was the4 winb.

We left right on the whistle - what did Di Canio do?

Came out to thank the Swindon fans for their support (fair enough) but then proceeded to point at us lot, make a gesture that our club is in the lower reaches of the Premier League and is going to go down, then points at all the Swindon fans makes gesture to suggest high in their league and going up.  When he then gets the reaction he wants, he proceeds to repeat it several times.  Each to their own I suppose.

What a silly man.

He made a couple of good substitutions though, got to give him that.

Looks to me like he might have meant it as praise for the Swindon support rather than a dig at the club. Still a daft thing to do though.

What a prick. If that's not inciting trouble then I don't know what is.

Just watched the goals (numerous times) and nothing beats seeing the Villa fans celebrate.

Good to hear Lambert question Benteke's second half performance too. We can't carry passengers at Aston Villa this season.

He shouldn't have stuck him out on the wing then.

When was the last time we won a cup match right at the death? There's probably an obvious one i'm missing but right now I can't think of the last time.

Agreed it was good to say that. Interesting he thinks Benteke is man enough to take public criticism but not some other players....

I'm not convinced that publicly criticising a 21 year old who has just scored twice saved your ass is something I agree with.

If you read all his comment, you realise he highly rates the lad but is keeping his feet on the ground. The game doesn't stop, just because you've scored.

I did read all his comments thanks, Lambert said "he didn't play to my standard" "why did he fall short? I don't know" that is public criticism to me and not very professional. It doesn't matter if it's mixed in with other praise. Why not just talk to the lad in private if he wasn't pleased.
