Great win - that's all you need in the cup.  Probably the death knell for Bent's Villa career -  be interesting to see if he drops Benteke after scoring two games in a row like he did with Bent.  Still don't understand why they were so poor throughout and why he continues to make strange substitutions - Delph for Bannan for example. Still a win is a win is a win.  Did we get to the semi final of the Milk Cup the last time we were relegated or was that the year before?!

Only two pages for the post match thread?
The cynic in me thinks it would have been more than that had we lost but who knows...

Glad we won, second half a shocker but great for us to score the late winner rather than concede it and safely through to the quarter finals and nice to see Benteke and Gabby on the scoresheet

Bradford at home in the next round please!

We were 'Brilliant'?!

Good to have H&V up and running so I can infect the place with my obscure random thoughts ;)

As others have said, we'll take a win in any competition at the moment.  A home QF draw against any of the other winners tonight bar Asenal would be very welcome.

I'm guessing he means attitude rather than actual performance.

I like goalscorers who score goals. For all Bent's undoubted class, he has plenty to do to get ahead of Benteke now.

Benteke's finishes were class - quite excited by him now.  I would have Bent playing alongside him though any day of the week.

All managers see a totally different game to the rest of us, even Fergie and Wenger do.

I hope Di Canio goes to bed and relives the match in his sleep.

At 2-2 he starts to see Madge getting her kit off - then at the last minute she gets up and walks out to be replaced by Nora Batty!
