The US Billion is 1,000 million.

The British Billion is 1 million million. These days I'm fairly certain that when referring to Billions we use the US meaning.

The Torys are the responsible party for the change.

Apparently a trillion, which used to be 1 million million million in British money, is now 1 million million.

So a trillion has become a billion.

Back in the 70s, the old billion (a million, million - which is now called a trillion) was a complete waste of a word. Even these days we only ever refer to trillions (formerly billions) when talking about the US national debt.

So it made logical sense to use it in the American sense. Otherwise we'd constantly be referring to x thousand million.

I'd love to be a billionaire.

Faulkner has said it won't affect (effect?) us, but if it was going to he would say that any way.

I don't see a return to the days of free-spending MON had until we're in a decent position, but I do think Lambert will be backed.

The American Birmingham City ?

Who did he sell to ? A dirty book seller or a Far East crook ?

Randy Lerner has completed the sale of the Atrocious Browns for $1 billion. More good work from the man who got £20 million for Stewart Downing!

I never understood why the fans of both teams had such petty fans, but there are always a few that give the rest ammunition to point out the weaknesses in the other clubs. Shame really.

I hope he puts 50 million into a new Witton End.   He'll get the money back when/if he sells the club.
Why and how?

I hope he puts it into the squad. I know it'll mean we have to carry on turning away the thousands queuing for tickets every game but at least we might stay up!

You'd think he will have twenty million for a couple of players in January wouldn't you?

Even if he puts it all in his Halifax Saver account, he will pick up 15 million in interest over the next 12 months.
