Judging by the interview, he seemed more concerned that he'd let his family down more than himself. I liked him as a player, i can't speak for what he's like as a person because i've never met him. He earned stupid money and he handled it badly. Let's just hope a few of our younger players read the article.

Not really interested in the musing of a young man who was grossly overpaid for the modicum of talent he possessed, yet who frittered it all away.  Plenty of people, for whatever reason, have to start afresh during their 30s or 40s.  They do so without feeling the need to share their woes with the national press. And they also do so having not hope of ever enjoying the lifestyle of a top-flight footballer.

To be fair to him he was given unsound advice and was far too trusting, that's why most of his money has gone. I agree with everything else though.

We recently had a baby and our community midwife had one of "his women" (her words) as a patient a few years ago. She said he was a tosser. She also used to moan about one of her unmarried Mums to be who always wore knickers with "Pussy" written on them (as a design, not done by herself in felt tip) so not sure if she just disliked all young people.

I liked Lee as a Villa player, I've heard all the stories about him off the pitch but on the pitch he was a Villa man. He also went on a nice little scoring spree. He scored some crackers and would go bananas. Yes, he bought some flash cars but at least he didn't go bankrupt to a bookmaker. At least he tried to put his money aside. Sadly, it seems he was either badly advised, too stupid to realise, or both.

Ironic really how Hendrie gave us ten years service and some great moments in that time yet he's disliked so greatly. On the other hand poor old depressed woman beating, waste of oxygen Collymore is a Holte End hero?
