He's not a donkey, he needs time, he'll be a cracking player.

So would Weimann if given the same opportunities.  This is purely and simply Lambert playing somebody who he paid good money for.  He doesn't deserve to be starting at all, it's clear he's not ready yet.

Give the lad a chance. Getting in the right position is two thirds of the job and he's doing that consistently, the finishing will come.

Come on Villa!

If Bent had kept his mouth shut last week he'd have started today
This. And this is what's annoying. I appreciate Lambert wants to show who's boss but Bent should have started today. Benteke does everything right but his finishing is really substandard at the moment.

I didn't see that but I gather benteke just missed a sitter?

Ha! I missed it too, due to some retuning or something going on!

I'm sure it wasn't that bad, though....

Get Bent on now, I'm not writing off Benteke at all but we need to take these chances.

Two sitters and thankfully Defoe buried that wide.

We need to stop Defoe cutting inside and shooting, he's their only real threat for me.

Cos Bent's never missed sitters? Seem to remember him missing a fair few at this very ground and getting slagged off by Redknapp

The Tesco bags referred to him as a 'Shit Emile Heskey' the other week.
