The 'clause' was probably in Lambert's contract prior to him becomming a Premier League manager with Norwich, more fool them. They should have had some sort of counter-clause in his contract that retracted this clause if he became a Premier League manager with Norwich.

it seems incredibly short-sighted if norwich didn't renegotiate his contract when they got promoted to the premier league to remove that clause.

Norwich are still claiming compensation from Villa aren't they?  Considering this counter claim I can see an 'out of courter' on the horizon.

Interesting he's now said that Norwich are in fact suing him.

Sounds like that Bowkett bloke has been taking lessons from Dave Whelan.

I quite like Norwich, but there is a reason Alan Partridge is on the radio there.

“The manner of Paul Lambert's departure is no surprise because he's walked out on every club he's ever managed. You can't complain because you know what you're getting but I felt he could have left in a more dignified manner.”

Sounds like he's doing more than just complaining.

I think this is incredibly amusing given that McNally was so bullish with his comments.

Bowkett said at a fans forum on Thursday night: "The manner of Paul Lambert's departure is no surprise because he's walked out on every club he's ever managed.

"You can't complain because you know what you're getting but I felt he could have left in a more dignified manner."
I think in hindsight Bowkett might re-tractor that statement. Good luck to Lambert but £2million does seem a bit John Deere.

Two different things.

Norwich are chasing Villa for compensation.

Lambert's claim for unfair dismissal is nothing to do with Villa.
